In the last moments before his death, as he hung on the cross, Jesus displayed forgiveness and concern for the people around him. Karina Nissley encourages we forgive and have compassion and mercy for the people around us like our Savior.

This Lent we are remembering the work Jesus did on the cross. One of the best ways to understand that work is to listen to the cries from the cross he spoke on that Friday. In his six hours on the cross, Jesus spoke seven words—seven statements encapsulating much of what his cross accomplished. These are called Jesus' last words.
