On this episode Matt and I chat about our second birth and what a different birth experience it was. Have you ever had an experience that altered the course of your life so deeply and profoundly that you knew your life would not be the same without it? Our first birth wasn’t the experience we’d hoped for. And after this birth, in our own ways, we became obsessed with figuring out why and what could be done differently.

Matt, as my birth partner, dived into research to learn more about how he could actively support a birth better. I really got into reading and learning more about pregnancy and birth and how I could incorporate my background in exercise science into it. 

This led us to make very different choices for our 2nd birth experience two and a half years later, which led to a profoundly different experience. An experience so deep and profound, an experience so autonomous and empowering, that it altered the entire course of our lives. This was the birth that led me to step fully into my power as a birth worker. 

I thought I was leaving exercise science and my  job as an exercise physiologist behind… little did I know that I would someday combine the two to create what is now known as the Body Ready Method®.

Margeaux, a therapist who works in maternal mental health, went into her first pregnancy having heard first hand the many ways that a birth experience can leave us traumatized. Unfortunately all that knowledge was not enough to prevent her from being coerced into an induction that left her in the kind of pain she counsels her clients through.

After the first year postpartum, a series of beautiful, magical synchronicities, and a deep connection to her inner voice, led her to become pregnant again. She was guided that she would have a baby girl, and that this time birth wouldn’t hurt her, it would heal her.

As she said to me after this interview, it feels so good to be on the other side, and be able to share this redemptive story!

Their pristine vocals soon compelled them into the spotlight, resulting in a 30+ year career that included has 13 recorded projects with Word Records and Warner Alliance, earned the group three Dove awards, five Grammy award nominations, and multiple national and international tours.

This is the second of a two part interview with Linda Groves-Bonder and Saniel Bonder respectively, about the unique and powerful spiritual process they have developed and teach, which is called “Waking Down in Mutuality”. 

Linda Groves-Bonder awakened in 1998 with the help of her husband Saniel, and then went on to become a senior teacher within the Waking Down in Mutuality movement. Linda’s passion for the arts led her, early in life, to become a professional singer and songwriter which she is to this day. Recently, she released a CD of wordless vocal toning called “Joy of Being” which communicates just that. LInda and Saniel have also recently founded the Human Sun Institute dedicated to awakening and empowering Leaders for the New Millennium.
