The piece exposes the relationship between the harmonic series of the North American 60 Cycle AC current and of the European 50 Cycle AC current, and uses the breathing rhythms of the live individual performers, spread across 2 continents, to determine the dynamic between the relationships, sounds and movements of the virtual avatar players. Avatar Orchestra Metaverse is a group of composers, performers, and media artists living in Europe, East Asian and North America who explore together the interactive possibilities of the Second Life online virtual reality platform to create works with open, interactive and possibly "infinite" elements. The Orchestra works with ideas that challenge conventional practices of creating and performing music, and finds new ways to conceive of and erase notions of identity, place, social, cultural and sexual identity, and the roles of composer, performer and listener.

It's a virtual world, but the transactions are real. Go inside Second Life, an online game where millions of people are creating digital personalities called avatars and are living virtual lives-- meeting other avatars, going to events, and even buying property with real money.

On the 12th may 2007, did AOM perform a second life happening. Included in this was the playing of found sounds, reading about it, playing with it, the premier of two pieces Rue Blanche and WNK, streaming/podasting it all. Ok, still very much behind the scheme of uploading things for the blogs. Hopefully enough material will be online very soon. This is the recording of the premier play of Rue Blanche. There were nine AOM players, Paco Mariani, Maximillian Nakamura, Loop Luo, Wirxli Flamflim, DeThomas Dibou, BlaiseDeLaFrance Voom, Maxxo Klaar, Miuelw Takahe and Bingo Onomatopoeia who also made this recording. This performance was also made in collaboration with Ljudrum in Eskilstuna/Sweden where there a 4-channel stereo setup (=8 speakers) at one of the computer halls at the university building. The performance at virtual Haidplatz was also interconnected to the RL happenings in Eskilstuna/Sweden (Mälardalens Högskola / University) called Ljudrum, or Soundrooms in english. Rinus van Alebeek was invited to make this Soundroom and as a virtual extension on this the performance of AOM with the found sounds where included. The sounds in the RL setup were really amazin' as they travelled along all directions in the big computer hall.

Come on do the Paco Bop. Yeah, let's do it! Meant to be a bit more danceable, but this is how it came out into existance.
