Overcoming Your Upper Limit and SEO Strategies for Creative Entrepreneurs with Elise Armitage

In this episode of Tried and True with a Dash of Woo, we dive into the world of creative entrepreneurship with travel blogger and podcast host Elise Armitage. Elise shares her inspiring story of overcoming an upper-limit problem and using SEO strategies to grow her blog to over 300,000 hits on Google. We discuss the concept of an upper limit problem and how it can prevent us from achieving our full potential as creative entrepreneurs. Elise also provides practical tips and advice for improving your search engine rankings and increasing your website traffic.

Elise Armitage is the writer behind What The Fab, a travel + lifestyle blog based in California, founded in 2012. At the beginning of 2019, Elise left her corporate job at Google to chase her dreams: being an entrepreneur and helping women find fabulous in the everyday. Since then, she’s launched the What The Fab Podcast, where she shares tangible life + biz tips to help her listeners live their best lives and make more money online, as well as her SEO course Six-Figure SEO, where she teaches bloggers how to create a passive revenue stream from their website using SEO. Featured in publications like Forbes, Elle, HerMoney, and Real Simple, Elise is a firm believer that you can be of both substance and style.

We start our conversation with Elise's journey as a travel blogger and how she found herself struggling with an upper-limit problem. She shares how the concept of an upper limit problem was first introduced by Gay Hendricks in his book, The Big Leap, and how she was able to identify and overcome her own limiting beliefs. We also discuss imposter syndrome and the impact it can have on creative entrepreneurs, as well as strategies for overcoming negative self-talk and self-sabotage.

Elise then shares her expertise in SEO strategies for creatives, which she used to grow her travel blog to over 300,000 hits on Google - a HUGE accomplishment that translates into tons of recurring ad revenue for her. We discuss the importance of keywords, meta descriptions, and quality content in improving your search engine rankings. Elise also shares how she uses Google Analytics to track her website traffic and make data-driven decisions for her blog.

She has since developed an SEO course to help other creatives incorporate these strategies into their own businesses and has a free webinar as well. Find that webinar here: https://join.whatthefab.com/webinar
