Evangelism comes after revival, or perhaps as a result of revival. When Gods people are rejoicing in Him, it becomes very natural for them to seek to bring others to the Jesus who brings them such joy. Revival from Christ changes us into missionaries for Christ.

Everything changes when we come to Jesus because Jesus changes our heart and this changes our life.

We must understand repentance because there is no revival without repentance

Several reasons why worry is wrong 1. Worry is needless. God cares for his own v.25 He goes from the greatest to the least - if he can do the greater he obviously can do the lesser - They he goes from the lesser to the greater v. 26 - the birds - the flowers 2. Worry is pointless. It accomplishes nothing v. 27 - worry doesn't add anything but it can take it away - worry is like a rocking chair. It takes a lot of energy to move but goes nowhere. 3. Worry is faithless. It demonstrates a lack of trust in God v. 30 - examples: the disciples in the storm, Peter on the water (Matt. 14), food for the disciples (Matt. 16) Wrong theology about God - when we give way to worry we are saying that... 1. God, you don't know what's going on in my life 2. God doesn't care 3. God is powerless 4. Worry is godless. Focus and seeks after the wrong thing v. 31-32 - it's paganism The prescription and the promise v. 33 The key- re-aline our priorities The cure- replace your pursuits - spirit food- hunger after righteousness - clothed in humility - spiritual health and exercise Stop worrying and start rejoicing Turn your cares into prayers Eph. 4:6 Make the choice to rejoice phil 4:4 Turn your worry into worship

The goal of prayer is the ear of God - spurgeon 1. Pray with reverence He was a cupbearer to the king. But when he talked to God he know he was not talking to an earthly king but to the King - praising God. v. 5 - for His mercy, love, grace, greatness, goodness - petitioning God. v.6 2. Pray with repetition - God is rarely early but never late 3. Pray with repentance v. 7 Prov. 28: 4. Pray with remembrance v.8 - the promises of God v. 8-9 - pray the Bible - the people of God v. 10 He promises to Meet our needs not our greeds - the power of God v.10 5. Commendation, not condemnation like in Revelation What had Laodicea done for such a reprimand? -they understood sin, but they were apathetic (spew: extreme disgust) 1. Sin of lukewarm-ness. Why it's hard to deal with a lukewarm person: - It's hard to do much with a spiritually indifferent person. - They are a reproach to the name of Jesus Christ. (Lukewarm is the worst form of blasphemy) - Lukewarm opens you up to so many other problems. 2. Source of lukewarm-ness -fluent, prosperous, independent, self-righteous -indifferent from ignorance, apathy from arrogance 3. Solution to lukewarm-ness - recognize the symptoms (their biggest need was to see the need itself) - you'll never see revival until you recognize your own genuine need - people don't want the news of the gospel because they've never come to grips with the bad news of their sin - the good news will sound so much better after you see the horrors of your own sin Now what?
