Stephanie Olson progresses her first episode with the next step of restoring her life. She acknowledges having held bitterness in her life for some time, and she first felt God speaking to her to seek forgiveness for her anger first with Him. His forgiveness equipped and empowered her to forgive those who had previously offended her. Stephanie acknowledges this forgiveness was a journey of perseverance. However, having achieved forgiveness, she realizes, expresses, and passes forward the total freedom she now has. Chumahan Bowen is an American Indian attorney who grew up on the Puyallup Indian Reservation, abandoned by his mother, raised by his alcoholic father, was sexually abused by a woman when he was 6, and was sexually abused by my stepmother between 14-17.  He is a writer, worked as executive assistant to Wyck Godfrey, and built his own law firm and podcast.

"Moving forward" for a victim/survivor of sexual abuse as a child, entails an element of learning something new. Of letting go and finding new opportunities of "being" and of living. But learning new brings additional vulnerability and perhaps taking risks. This podcast explores these aspects.

Often victim/survivors are told by others that they need to ‘forgive’ the abuser in order to move on . This podcast explores the meaning of the word and whose need is being met when there is pressure put on the victim/survivor to forgive.

It is made clear that forgiveness is a personal choice, and it is ok not to forgive.
