    MarleyAyo is the brainchild of STS host Thea Monyeé. This creative wellness consultation LLC aims to actively support and create tools to reverse the adverse effects of colonization and enslavement by liberating marginalized people around the globe through joy, pleasure, creativity, and intentional decolonization.

    MarleyAyo has the vision to create and nurture a multi-dimensional organism that prioritizes the reintegration of spirit and liberation through unlearning, media, consulting, and land stewardship.

    MarleyAyo offers an ongoing lecture series on decolonizing and expanding mental health and a cohort full of passionate, interdisciplinary, co-creative folks excited to decolonize mental health.

    The conversations and spaces that MarleyAyo creates are rich, explorative, joy-centered, and full of engagement.

    We leave them feeling more empowered, more creative, and more liberated!

Make time today to expand your perspective and join us for a belief shifting episode of Shaping the Shift! ⁣ ⁣ In Episode 26: Repurposing 2020 with Dr. Candice "Cece" Weaver, Thea Monyeé, and special guest, @ceasydoesit delve into a deep conversation that will inspire you, shift your mindset, and reframe your personal narrative.⁣ ⁣ Prior to attending medical school at Touro University, Dr. Candice Weaver earned a Masters Degree in Public Health from Dartmouth Medical School, an undergraduate degree in Health Policy at UC Berkeley, and completed premedical studies and cancer research at The Johns Hopkins University. ⁣ ⁣

    Dr. Weaver became Board Certified in Family Medicine after training at UCSF's program at Natividad Medical Center. She was a founding member of the Global Physicians Corps, a nonprofit organization that sends physicians on medical missions to Africa. She has worked with GPS to help deliver babies and conduct research on maternal mortality rates in rural Tanzania. ⁣ ⁣ Dr. Weaver was selected as a National Health Service Corps Scholar and worked in East Palo Alto providing full-scope medical care to the underserved, before accepting a position at Kaiser Permanente, where she currently practices. ⁣ ⁣ She is the author of Nia's Puzzle, a children's book about resilience and the "big picture" perspective.     Hey, #ShiftShapers! It's time to dive into another insightful conversation between friends, host Thea Monyeé, and special guest in episode 20 of Shaping the Shift: Writing Our Future with Nikki Skies.⁣

    Nikki Skies (@nskies) is an accomplished poet, award-winning playwright, actor, and author - best known for her fiery performances- currently living in Atlanta, GA.⁣

    A firm believer in the power of education, Nikki is an alumna of Grambling State University (B. A. in Theatre/Acting), Howard University (M.A. in Film program for Screenplay Writing), and Clark Atlanta University (M.A. in Africana Women's Studies) ⁣

    @nskies has opened in venues across the country for the likes of Sonia Sanchez, Gloria Steinem, and the late Amiri Baraka. Nikki was cast as a co-star for the late John Singleton's television drama, "Rebel" on BET. She was also the creative writer for BET's digital series, "Rebel Yell."⁣

    In theatre, Skies' one-woman show in which she portrayed the late Afeni Shakur, mother of Tupac Shakur, was commissioned as a fundraising event for Morehouse College. In addition to lengthy experience as an actor, director, and playwright, her latest play, Hope's Return, debuted at the esteemed National Black Theatre Festival as a part of the New Works Reader's Theatre among a national selection of over 400 plays.⁣

    Nikki is currently a Ph.D. student in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Georgia. Her research revolves around the restorative tenets of dramatic monologues in the contemporary works of southern black women playwrights. @nskies is currently adjunct faculty at Spelman College in Arts and Visual Culture and the Playwright-In-Residence at Orange Box Theater.⁣

    Raised in the deserts and cities of southern California by his maternal grandparents - their upbringing informs his compassion towards addiction, elders, and survivors of trauma.

     

    Chaz (@chzcruz) earned his B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State LA, and M.A. in Organization Leadership: Higher Education & Student Affairs from the University of San Francisco - bringing critical womanist/feminist, queer theory and critical race theory to education and student affairs work with love, engagement, and intentionality.

    He believes education can be a unifying and liberating tool.
