The conversation includes stories about Burgin's days playing guitar with the legendary Pinetop Perkins, a gig he landed right out of college, "long before I was ready," he says. In his impressive career, "Rockin Johnny Burgin" has recorded nine albums, in addition to playing on numerous albums as a sideman to a who's who list of blues legends.
