The Star Wars Marathon continues as we dive into one of the first stand alone films. No Jedi, No Force, No Sith....Will the film cut it? Can a movie with none of those things still be great? Hey People its Professor CK, I'm not even gonna try and be clever or subtle here folks, this one is for me, I love this shit. It's Star Wars, it needs no explanation or introduction. But this isn't your mammy's Star Wars, we're going back to the beginning, back the birth of the galaxy far far away. Where did the force come from, how did the Jedi and Sith come to be, how did intergalactic trade and government establish itself....okay we touch briefly on that but mostly it's talking about the battles, the heroes, the villains and everything in-between. And for those of you still reading this instead of listening already, yeah I realize this pretty nerdy, but I pay my taxes and I'm an adult with disposable income so just sit back and enjoy. 

Come celebrate the 2nd Year Anniversary of Detention Block AA-23: A Star Wars Podcast 1st episode being launched!  It's hard to believe that it has been 2 years since the DetBlock Crew set off on their podcasting journey and they have enjoyed every bit of it and look forward to what is to come in the future!

They follow speaking to that with talking about the upcoming Ahsoka show and what they are looking forward to the most about it.  All signs, thus far, point to the show being great and they can't wait to see how the Rebels story continues through a new avenue of live action.  All will start coming into fruition starting August 23rd, with the launching of the first 2 episodes of the show.

Next, the Mike and Dustin discuss some news around Disney's plans to increase the subscription cost for Disney+ starting in October.  They will also be adding an ad free function to the service for an additional cost.  Also, not mentioned within the episode, Disney plans to cut down on household sharing of the service following the success of Netflix taking the same route and earning a great deal of additional subscribers, even though its sort of in a forceful way.  Will the same happen for Disney?  We'll just have to wait and see.

Mike jumps on to first talk about a few small news bits that include an announcement for Star Wars Jedi : Survivor and expanding out to more gamers, rumors about the upcoming Star Wars #films having the potential to dive into some of George Lucas' original sequel plans, and a brief mention of some allegations being made about a recent Star Wars celebrity.
