We talked about his trajectory to CAA and how it wasn’t as smooth as I had romanticized it in my head. You know because sometimes from the outside we see people get on a BIG SHOW like HBO’s Silicon Valley or in the trades we see they’re working opposite Snoop Dogg and we think – of course, CAA came knocking – but it didn’t happen that way and he breaks down his path. Spoiler Alert – the path was riddled with panic, panic, panic followed by anxiety, fear, and more panic.

The Pivoting Musician | Episode 13: Skipping the Line

It’s okay…you can skip the line! For the musician, the traditional way was to go to school, obtain a degree, then apply to a zillion applications to maybe (just maybe) get a “yes” from the music panel. Guess what?! Times are changing and the music industry is changing, too! You can skip the line and be your own boss. Sit in the driver’s seat and say “yes” to yourself and to your career. Work with the people who motivate and inspire you, while making a living!

This podcast was a long time dream of mine. If you are new to me and all things Think Bigger, I used to do an actor summit called the THINK BIGGER SUMMIT. Where I would spend three days bringingin over 20 guest speakers from all areas of the industry to help actors SKIP THE LINE and take their career to the next level. Huge success. The Think Bigger podcast was a natural progression that I always wanted to do...I was already ready to launch the podcast in person and then the pandemic hit. And everything went virtual. I didn’t let it stop my launch of the podcast...I just took everything virtual and did the talks online… Until now.

So many amazing hats Deji wears and I’m here for it. Deji and I met on the set of BOSCH...way back in season one. We had a very similar story...not knowing what BOSCH was going to turn into -- but loved the journey. Deji has since gone on to create his on series...JOHNSON...which he stars in, co-showruns, writes on -- all the things and it’s pretty amazing.
