    KSP2 Ep8 - Dev Concerns, Kofeyh & the Kommunity, and Skylab 2016

While TheReadPanda is away we drag Kofeyh back into the podcast to talk about his experience with Kerbal Space Program 2. We also discuss Nate's post about the issues with announcements and the backlash from the community. In our Real Space section we take ourselves back to 2016 when Aki, Digi, Kofeyh and Newbius Maximus went on a trip to Esperance to see the Skylab Wreckage. And, as always, we are left with heads-in-hands after Digi runs through his not-so-science questions.

S02E05: Hubble Constant and Skylab: The Latest in Astronomy News

S02E05: Hubble Constant and Skylab: The Latest in Astronomy News
Today’s Space, Astronomy, and Science News Podcast Astronomy Daily the Podcast - Episode May 15, 2023 European spacecraft, Jupiter IC moons explorer (JUICE), successfully freed a 16-meter radar antenna, which had been jammed for a month, and will use it to investigate Jupiter's moons Callisto, Europa, and Ganymede. NASA's Lunar Flashlight mission, which aimed to hunt for ice in the lunar south pole, failed to reach its intended orbit and is now orbiting the sun. Russian cosmonauts successfully completed a five-hour and 14-minute spacewalk outside the International Space Station to activate a radiator and conduct other maintenance activities. Astronomers have captured images of a star named ZTF SLRN 2020 consuming one of its planets, causing the star to brighten 100 times its normal level. This confirmed the long-standing assumption that stars swallow their planets, and the process has been illuminated. Steve Dunkley and digital assistant Hallie also briefly discuss the Hollywood movie Red Planet and its portrayal of space janitors. Steve returns after recovering from COVID-19. Skylab 50 - Interview with Astronaut Jack Lousma

Skylab 50 - Interview with Astronaut Jack Lousma

To celebrate the Skylab 50th anniversary here is one our favourite astronaut chats from 2012 where we caught up with Skylab 3 and STS-3 astronaut, Jack Lousma. Jack was also capcom during Apollo 13 and he tells us about taking that ominous ‘Houston, we’ve had a problem’ call and how they solved each life-threatening issue in sequence to get the astronauts back alive. He talks about missing out on flying Apollo 20 to the moon, being a crew member on the Skylab space station and taking one of the first space shuttles out for a test drive.

    Episode 116: Sean Evans

    Episode 116: Sean Evans
Robert Sean Evans (Sean Evans) is the founder and CEO of My Wine Society, the first social engagement platform for the global wine community, connecting wineries to fans. The 38-year-old launched his first company while at Atkinson Graduate School of Management, which was an athletic training facility in Portland, Oregon. He then spent the next 4 years growing the company so he could sell and move to California. Upon arriving in California, Evans launched a boutique management consulting company and worked on referral basis for small to medium cap companies. He did this for the next 12 years before partnering with Skylab and launching My Wine Society in San Diego. Evans has still has over half a dozen companies under management, with his personal focus on the execution and growth of his wine app.

Sean Evans conceptualized this platform from years of experience working in the management consulting field combined with a fortuitous introduction to a revolutionary tech partner in Skylab. His family being heavily involved in the Northern California wine industry as owners of Holly's Hills Winery and having many high school friends as working professionals in Napa Valley, it was a perfect marriage of experience, opportunity and need. Sean grew the company from concept phase by partnering with Skylab to a global app spanning multiple continents and over 35 employees worldwide.

“It was that surface-level knowledge of the wine industry operations and their struggle to communicate and connect with the next generation of wine drinkers that inspired My Wine Society... along with a unique opportunity to partner with Skylab and skip an almost always debilitating tech development process. Being more of an outsider looking in, but still very much a wine enthusiast, has helped me to have a firm vision for connecting wine drinkers in a mobile community to the wineries they want to learn about and visit” reflects Evans.

To get a break from his long working hours, Evans enjoys traveling to environments completely opposite than the office such as a weekend festival or a short trip to a new destination. Exploring new places personally and physically help him reset for another long week.
