    Where to travel in 2023

    Where to travel in 2023

As we approach the new year, Laura asks Skyscanner's Travel Trends Expert, Laura Lindsay, about what and where is up and coming in 2023 - so you can get in there ahead of the crowds.

According to Laura, we're more determined than ever to travel despite the cost of living crisis, but we're looking for places which offer better value for our hard-earned cash. As a result, lesser-known destinations such as Amman, Madeira and Zagreb are on people's radars.

Having recently returned from Jordan herself, Laura tells us why it's one of Skyscanner's trending destinations - and why it should be on your travel checklist.

Skyscanner is a search engine which helps you find the cheapest flights and hotels. You can browse flights across an entire month to find the best deal and use it's 'Everywhere' feature to find the cheapest destinations to fly to from your chosen airport.

Feeling inspired? Find cheap flights on Skyscanner.

Building a Growth Mindset; Storytelling 101 for Startups; and Lessons from the Pandemic: 8x8 Global Speaker Series (3/3) with Yara Paoli, Adam Najberg, and Shamik Talukder

Today we’re bringing you the final episode of our Chinaccelerator 8x8 Global Speakers Series where we invite some of the most accomplished members of the global startup ecosystem to share key lessons for startups in eight minutes or less.

    Show Notes:

    02:18 - Yara Paoli

    11:30 - Adam Najberg

    19:27 - Shamik Talukder

Our first speaker is Yara Paoli. Yara is the former VP of Growth at Skyscanner (acquired by Ctrip) and is currently the Co-Founder and Chief Growth Scientist of Growth OS, a growth enabler company. Having contributed to growing Skyscanner from a 32-employees small startup to a GBP 1.4 Billion  valued company with over 1,000 talented people working across 60+ markets, Yara is the perfect guest to talk about growth mindset, which she talks about in this episode.

Our next speaker is Adam Najberg, Global Head of Content at Alibaba Group and Former Global Director of Communications at DJI. Having been in the field of journalism and PR for over 25 years, Adam has amassed a wealth of experience in storytelling. Today, he talks about why storytelling is important for startups, and how someone else could tell their stories if startups don't do it themselves.

Finally, we have Shamik Talukder, co-founder of Be Tagged, an influencer marketing company, and the founding member of the largest Radio FM Network in India, Radio Mirchi, and former Vice President at Viacom 18 Media. In his talk today, he shares two important lessons that the covid19 pandemic has taught him and how he believes that could help startups.

    38. Travis Katz of Trip.com

    38. Travis Katz of Trip.com

Travis Katz launched Gogobot at the height of the "social trip planning" wave in online travel.

The ex-MySpace exec knew for the company to succeed after the buzz of that 2010 period that it would take a lot more than a fancy user experience and PR to propel it into a phase of genuine growth.

Gogobot's focus on data and mobile was the key element in its push towards establishing itself as a worthy player in the ecosystem.

A name change to Trip.com in 2016 set the wheels in motion for what would become a sale to Chinese online travel giant Ctrip in late-2017 (Ctrip later rebranded to Trip.com Group).

Katz joins us as the latest guest on How I Got Here.

HIGH is a weekly show produced by PhocusWire and Mozio, aimed at getting the inside stories behind startups and innovation in travel and transportation.

It's hosted by PhocusWire's editor in chief, Kevin May, and Mozio co-founder and CEO David Litwak.
