Season 2, Episode 14: Snowplow Parenting

Season 2, Episode 14: Snowplow Parenting

Topic: In prior episodes, we’ve discussed Free-Range Parenting. There are other styles including Helicopters, Tiger Moms and the like. Today we will be discussing Snowplow parenting. From the cited Today’s Parent website, this is a fairly newer ‘parenting technique’ that has caused controversy regarding its practice. They want to remove any pain or difficulties from their children’s paths so that their kids can succeed.

Should we (as parents) be removing obstacles for own children? Why/not? Is the snowplowing style a reflection of current parents own upbringing? What has changed?
