#129: The shoulder doesn't exist. Functional anatomy dissection and training perspectives - with Julian Baker

When you are pointing at a shoulder, what are you really pointing at?

Is the pain or discomfort you are feeling right there referring to something that is going on right there?

If the nervous system is telling us that someone, such as a therapist, is touching you therefore you should feel and behave accordingly, how shall we define therapy then?

I asked this question to Julian Baker, owner at Functional Anatomy and Principal Instructor of The College of Bowen Studies. He is creating a research project investigating the effects of lifelong human movement and function on connective tissue and to run hands on and web based dissection classes.

#127: Touch, mind and posture. Functional anatomy dissection and training perspectives - with Julian Baker

Super special guest this week is Julian Baker, owner at Functional Anatomy and Principal Instructor of The College of Bowen Studies. He is creating a research project investigating the effects of lifelong human movement and function on connective tissue and to run hands on and web based dissection classes. What is a good posture? Does such thing as "muscle memory" exist? What is the importance of touch? These are some of the questions I did have the opportunity to ask him.
