• Writer Tony Isabella posted on Facebook this week what he is asking from cons that invite him to a show. We run down the list and offer our thoughts. All in all, we think everything is very reasonable. Well, except for the rider about no blue M&Ms in the green room. 
• Did you watch the preview for Obi-Wan Kenobi premiering in two months? If we weren't already subscribing to Disney+, we would be signing up now for sure to watch this series.
• We look at 52 #29, where it's Thanksgiving in the DC Universe. The JSA breaks up a parade. Sivana uses a chainsaw to slice the turkey. And John Irons appears to dealing with flaky skin in the dry pre-winter air.

Welcome to WCPEver 5.0!

Very quietly over the summer, the podcast entered it's fifth year of comic talking, which according to our top-notch research team, makes us the longest-running lowest-rate show in our demographic. We are proud to be the Worst. And we are pleased that you, our loyal listeners, come back for the Worst each and every week.

Now, to add to the numbers of year five of podcasting, the odometers for each of us are going to roll over to 50 over the next nine months. John leaves the 49 club behind in a matter of hours as this podcast is posted, with Jerry following in two months. The youngster of the bunch, Cullen, will join 50 next June. (And yes, he still gets carded!) We are all excited for the new opportunities being 50 gives us, such as additional medical exams and those sweet AARP discounts.

We wanted to mark year 5 & year 50 on the podcast in some way, and we came up with WCPEver 5.0. Special thanks as always to friend of the show and Photoshop wizard Brent Kincade for the new updated logo for us to use over the next year. We will find some more ways to celebrate 5.0 over the next year, and we want you to be part of that.

Now, on to the show. We are taking a look at the November 2019 solicits, so you can start planning now for books to be picking up ahead of your Thanksgiving holiday. Give it a good listen. If there is a book that sounds interesting, be sure to tell your local comic shop so they can order you a copy.

We discuss the retirement announcement from legendary creator George Pérez. Due to his ongoing health issues, George announced over the weekend that he will be stepping away from future comic work. All three of us have grown up reading his comics, and we all have had the pleasure of meeting him in person multiple times. We share our thoughts on his career, our favorite runs, and even our favorite covers done by Pérez.

We have our Pick 3 choices for books coming out next week at your local comic book shops. It doesn't happen often, but we did not pick a single book from Marvel or DC. Instead, we have picks from Dark Horse, IDW and Image Comics. Can you guess our picks?

The week started out with the various publishers releasing their solicits for November 2017. We scanned the listings and picked out some of the books that intrigued us. As always, if there is an upcoming book that you really want to get, make sure you let your local comic shop know that so they can order one for you. 

Jerry and John both got the chance to watch the new Defenders series on Netflix over the weekend. We discuss the highlights and the lowlights (i.e., Iron Fist) of the new eight-episode series. 

We wrap things up with some listener feedback and some quick recaps of what we have been reading lately. We also are getting ready for the Rose City Comic Con starting two weeks from today in Portland, OR.
