    Good News: Live Again

    1. God doesn’t always come when you want him to but He’s always right on time

John 11:3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick. (NIV)

John 11:5–6 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days, (NIV)

Job 30:20 “I cry out to you, God, but you do not answer; I stand up, but you merely look at me. (NIV)

Psalm 22:1–2 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? 2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.

Psalm 28:1 To you, Lord, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit. (NIV)

    3 Reasons God is Silent

    1. He has already spoken, but you aren’t listening

    2. You haven’t responded to the last thing God said

    3. You’re not ready to hear God’s answer

John 16:12 “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. (NLT)

Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (NIV)

    2. You will rise again

John 11:23-26 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (NIV)

    3. Jesus deeply cares for you

John 11:33-35 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. 34 “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. 35 Jesus wept. (NIV)

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (NIV)

    4. Jesus brings dead things back to life again

John 11:39-41 “Take away the stone,” he said. “But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”40 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” 41 So they took away the stone. (NIV)

So That | Herbert Cooper - Audio

So That | Herbert Cooper - Audio
John 11:4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” (NIV)

John 11:14-15 So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, 15 and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” (NIV)

    6 “So That’s”

    1. To get your attention

Deuteronomy 4:34–35 Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes? 35 You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God; besides him there is no other. (NIV)

    2. To get your affection

Acts 17:26-27 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. (NIV)

    3. To give you direction

Leviticus 26:13 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high. (NIV)

    4. To provide correction

Psalm 119:71 It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees. (NIV)

    5. To provide you protection

Exodus 14:17 I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. (NIV)

Exodus 14:25 He jammed the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, “Let’s get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt.” (NIV)

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. (NIV)

Ephesians 6:13-14 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, (NIV)

    6. To lead others to salvation

Psalm 51:12–13 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you. (NIV)
