    Episode 249: c2eMusic 10 Years of Pressure pt1

    Episode 249: c2eMusic 10 Years of Pressure pt1

This mix is the first in a series celebrating my ten years on Pressure Radio.
I must admit I never imagined still being here ten years on, but as the old saying goes - "time flies.......".
I still remember my audition with John Matteo.  It was a Sunday afternoon here in Sydney which meant Saturday night in NY where JM was playing live on Pressure.
He helped me with the configuration of the software used to stream and listened to me on a test stream.  Then he announces over the mic that we have a new DJ to Pressure in Sydney Aus and he's gonna play live for us now!!!!  I wasn't expecting that, my family were sitting around in the lounge where I had the music equipment at the time just chilling and watching TV.  Next thing I'm cranking out the tunes trying to impress JM and the Pressure Fam.  I remember JM messaging me asking what some of the tunes were, then jumping on the mic and losing it at what he was hearing.  Safe to say it was a yes from him.
The rest as they say is history...

    Episode 248: c2eMusic Dirty Phunk 3

    Episode 248: c2eMusic Dirty Phunk 3

It's taken over seven years but Vol 3 of the Dirty Phunk series is now out.  I can't say it was planned as I don't do that with music very often.  This was recorded on the fly for the live Pressure Radio show on 23rd December.  My original thought was a new Dave Lee mix and that's how thing started, however track three changed all that!
From then on in we were on a disco phunk ride through the archives.  I tried to select tracks you may not have heard for a while and aren't that obvious but you know them.
Recorded at the end of 2021 this is the first release of 2022, so I wish you all a happy and prosperous new year.  Here's hoping we all get to dance together in 2022.  I'm aiming for Suncebeat in Croatia this year.  Fingers crossed things line up.
In the meantime grab your flares and bellbottoms and throw some phunky shapes to this latest release.

    Episode 247: c2eMusic Soulful Crates

Welcome to another crate digging session, recorded on the c2eMusic Radio Show on Pressure Radio on 9th December.  It's a bit of a tale of two halves.  The first being pretty chilled and soulful giving way to a bit more oomph in the second hour.  The first hour has a very British feel from the Soulful House scene featuring producers like Rhemi, Sean McCabe, The Journey Men and Atjazz.  The mix then crosses the pond for the second hour with a US centric sound.

    Episode 246: c2eMusic December 2021

    Episode 246: c2eMusic December 2021

Great being able to get an early release out for the December podcast.  It's just down to when the radio show falls and it doesn't make sense to wait till the next show which takes us into mid December so here we are.
This mix is quite different to your traditional c2eMusic mix.  It doesn't have the usual flow, the changes in energy levels and styles.  This bad boy is just ON from the very first beat.  A strong upbeat energy runs the whole length.
It's almost all new tracks - purchased literally 15 minutes before the show - I know you've heard me say this many a time.  It certainly makes for an adrenaline packed show as I have no idea what the tracks do, so trying to craft some kind of direction is a real challenge.
I'm really happy with the result - the energy makes it perfect for the gym or a long run.  Whilst it is a little chunkier than a typical c2eMusic mix it still has that rich warmth, swagger to the beats and lushness.  That's a non-negotiable!
This Monday 29th Nov will see the return of the Argie Bargy Cartel to House Nation Live.  Looking forward to throwing some tunes down with Karl Prinzen my partner in crime.  We always have a good laugh and enjoy crate digging and reminiscing.  It's on the chunkier side but still very much accessible.  You can find us on Facebook live and Mixcloud Live.  I'm likely to stream on c2eMusic stream on Mixcloud.
Would love for you to join us.  In the meantime play/download this beauty and let me know what you think.

Episode 245: c2eMusic Soulful Vocal House Classics Vol5

Episode 245: c2eMusic Soulful Vocal House Classics Vol5

I'm starting to establish a pattern with my Pressure Radio shows now  There are typically two a month, one featuring new releases and the latest sounds.  The other is a crate digging session on the deep/soulful side.
This mix is an example of the latter.  It's been a while since I did a mix just filled with big tune after big tune so I was excited to do another one.
I'm really happy with the way it went.  Again it was all on the fly, feeding off the people in the chatroom, so hopefully you feel a part of this mix.  Obviously I love all the tracks in this mix or I wouldn't have chosen them, but having heard it a couple of times now it is a special mix.
If you love your soulful vocal house then you should thoroughly enjoy this.  The mix features all the big names from the scene, Vega, Knuckles, McCabe, Gum, Feliciano, Rhemi & Spen to name a few.

Would love to hear your feedback, is this your idea of classic soulful vocal or did I miss the mark.
Would also love to hear whereabouts in the world you are listening from and what your favourite mix is.

    Episode 244: c2eMusic November 2021

    Episode 244: c2eMusic November 2021

Recorded right at the end of October this mix was almost Oct Vol2.  However just hours away from todays show and with no new music it makes more sense for to be the November mix.
Anyone following my Global Lounge Room Music on Mixcloud will recognise this mix.  Essentially the GLRM mix was done on the fly and as a result it's not as tight as I would have liked.  So I have almost redone it again here with a couple of changes towards the end.
I must admit it's taking me longer to get back into the swing of things after such a long time away.  I still haven't got back into staying on top of new music.  This mix is music I've bought through late September and October.  It starts off on the deeper more chilled side but all that changes at the halfway mark.  There are some serious heavyweight contenders in the latter part of the mix. ending with an all time classic.
On a separate note I am working to make my podcast Spotify compliant so I can host on there.  That will be a great breakthrough and I can't wait to see it on there.  I'll let you all know when it's up and available.
Lastly I spoke to Karl Prinzen this week, he is the other half of Argie Bargy Cartel, the pseudonym we play under on House Nation Live.  We agreed to get back on air so watch this space for confirmation of dates and times.  That will mean I have three projects on the go, each with a different musical slant.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy the latest instalment of c2eMusic.

    Episode 242: c2eMusic NNR 2021

    Episode 242: c2eMusic NNR 2021

This is a recording from Pressure Radio on 16th September.  As I mentioned during the show with the radio show being fortnightly one week will be new tracks and the other a crate digging session.
Completely unplanned (as always) I found myself in the Nice 'N' Ripe folder containing all things UKG from back in the day.
Yes I know I've done a couple of NNR mixes before, but that was years ago now.
The mix still flows from the more chilled stuff through to HUGE bangers with a gentle come down at the end.

I will be releasing the recording of last weekends Global Lounge Room Music session which I do every fortnight on a Saturday.   It started out as a live Zoom party to bring some fun to everyone stuck in lockdown.  It also streams live on Mixcloud which is better for sound quality.

    Episode 241: c2eMusic September 2021

    Episode 241: c2eMusic September 2021

I'm finally back!!!!  It's been a while, well over a year in fact.  I moved into a penthouse in June 2020 with an amazing set up.  It had two floors and the top floor had a really cool balcony over the lounge and uninterrupted views across the city to the Blue Mountains.  There was a huge open space, wooden floor and big enough for 40/50 people to dance, I was so excited.  There was just one problem - the walls were wafer thin and my only neighbour had his bedroom right next to the dancefloor!!  DISASTER.  So I was unable to mix for the following 12 months.
I had to move in July of this year as the owner wanted to sell, I was gutted as it was a beautiful place, but it meant I had a chance to get the music back online.  I was lucky to find another two storey penthouse with a similar unbroken view across the city.  However this one had a big walk in wardrobe in my bedroom capable of fitting my vinyl and DJ equipment in.  It has a full floor to ceiling window with amazing views, but importantly it's on the opposite side of the apartment to my neighbour, and the walls are made of sturdy stuff.  As a result I've been able to resume my residency on Pressure radio and even run a fortnightly Zoom/Mixcloud party on Saturday's to entertain those of us stuck in lockdown.
So here we are with the first release of a new era, maybe I should rename to c3eMusic :).
This mix is a recording from the last weeks Pressure Radio show.  Big shouts and thanks to everyone that came and supported in the chatroom and on the outside via the player.  It felt so good to be back and interacting with everyone.
To be honest I didn't listen to or buy any new music for the whole period I was offline.  I never thought I'd ever say that.  This show is full of mainly new music acquired over the two weeks prior to the show.  I don't think it's quite as smooth or tight as past mixes, but the tunes are great so still worth publishing.
Fingers crossed we can go on another uninterrupted run for the next few years.
Massive thank you to everyone that takes the time to listen to this mix or downloads, I would fully understand if I had been forgotten about, so I'm very appreciative of your ongoing support.
