November 1955 – January 1956.’ Includes a list of the personnel of the Committee appointed by the Prime Minister in 1948 to administer the sum allocated from the South African Aid to Britain Fund to encourage youth travel overseas. “The tour was to give a representative group of British youth experience of conditions of life and work in the Gold Coast and Nigeria, to bring them into contact with the people in their homes and in their varying activities, and to give them an idea of the great potential of the British Commonwealth’. ‘The Party consisted of six young women and six young men from varying occupations in different parts of the United Kingdom’.
