SEA Leadership Podcast E6: Conversation with Hao Tran, Vietcetera Media

In episode six of our Talent Talk with Robert Walters podcast in South East Asia, we speak with Hao Tran, CEO of Vietcetera Media, who shares his journey of running a fast-growing media start-up in Vietnam, and his advice on how while optimising for our career success and goals, we should nonetheless remain open to different perspectives.

Online Channels Help SEA Beat COVID Blues, Attract OEMs

Online Channels Help SEA Beat COVID Blues, Attract OEMs
The South East Asia (SEA) smartphone market declined in the first half of 2020 due to COVID-19 lockdowns. But as the restrictions started to ease, OEMs were quick enough to focus on online channels to meet the pent-up demand. Online channels in Indonesia reached their highest point in Q4 2020, with brands like Xiaomi and realme leading online sales. Thailand’s smartphone market also saw online channels registering strong growth, leading to only a marginal overall annual decline.

In the latest episode of ‘The Counterpoint Podcast’, host Maurice Klaehne is joined by Senior Research Analyst Glen Cardoza to talk about the dynamics of SEA smartphone market and growth of online channels. With COVID-19 causing disruptions in the supply chain, smartphone makers have been recalibrating and diversifying production to reduce overreliance on China. But what makes the Philippines and Vietnam attractive options for smartphone makers to invest in? Glen shares some valuable insights on this topic and more.

Episode 19 - Top 5 Countries for Backpacking

Episode 19 - Top 5 Countries for Backpacking

Welcome to Episode 19 to The Unravelling Travelling Podcast!

In this episode we debate which countries make the list of the best countries we have visited for backpacking.

How to define backpacking is up for interpretation, but to us backpacking is about travelling efficiently on a budget, with very little luggage for a prolonged amount of time. It often requires you to stay in cheap accommodation, eat cheap food and drink cheap booze. This means that you can travel for longer and touch down in more countries.

With this in mind, we've managed to narrow down our list to our five favourites. From interrailing around European cities to staying in cheap Asian hostels, this episode covers a range of places around the world.

So chuck your backpack on and get yourself settled in for the latest episode!

Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy!

Episode 18 - Top 5 Countries for Sun, Sea and Sand

Welcome to Episode 18 to The Unravelling Travelling Podcast!

In this episode we debate which countries make the list of the best countries we have visited for sun, sea and sand.

We both love a sunny getaway, and have been lucky enough to visit some of the most stunning and picturesque countries in the world. From floating bungalows in Thailand and finding hidden beaches in Indonesia, to exploring the diverse Croatian coastline, compiling and narrowing down this list was tough (and led to a few disagreements!), but we're happy with the end result.

So, slap on your sunscreen, find a spot down by the pool and get lost in this episode!

Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy!
