James lets the ink dry before sealing his letter. He hears everything in the hot June woods. His parents, far away in Massachusetts, have no idea what it's like to be on the front lines of battle during a merciless and clingy Southern June. But this is not just any campaign or any war, this is the Atlanta Campaign of the American Civil War. From the pens of the people who lived it 162 years ago to your ears, we're resurrecting these letters for you once again.
