254 - Horny for Space Rocks: a conversation about superhero kinks and being a kinky illustrator

254 - Horny for Space Rocks: a conversation about superhero kinks and being a kinky illustrator

This week, we sat down with illustrator Space Pup Silver to discuss superhero kinks and fetishes! We talked about his fascination with tropes, especially some of the wackier ones from the Silver Age of Comics, such as Red Kryptonite, conveyor belts, and humans kept in alien zoos. We also discussed how his illustration style has developed over time, as well as what inspires his art.

Thanks for listening! If you enjoyed this one, you’d probably like episodes 191, 250, and 251.

Surprise Party 8 - Showcase of the Immortals (feat. Lucas Brown)

Surprise Party 8 - Showcase of the Immortals (feat. Lucas Brown)

For those of you who understand the title, yes, you read that correctly. For those who don't...well, strap in, folks, because this week, we're putting on our spandex, lacing up our boots, and oiling the living shit out of our upper bodies before heading straight through that curtain and out into the spotlight. Just in time for Wrestlemania 35, it's a very special pro wrestling episode of Surprise Party!

To be fair, it's two weeks after Wrestlemania 35, but honestly, that show was so long it might still be going. Fortunately, this episode is also ridiculously lengthy! But why? Could it be each host's need to craft elaborate entrances for their characters? Could it be Dan's and MeganBob's valiant struggle to understand what in the blue hell is going on here? Or could it possibly be the fact that we're joined this week by Lucas Brown of The Math of You Podcast, who could literally talk about wrestling forever if we let him?

Whatever the answer, know that this Andre the Giant-Sized episode contains magical puppetry, sultry Southern accents, improbable victories, heartwarming collectivism, telepathic calls to action, bunnies with swords, and at least one broken barbershop window. It's a whole lot of fun. Really.

Also, we're extremely sorry. Blame Miles.

    RAF075: Hit the Road, Jack!

    RAF075: Hit the Road, Jack!

    Title: Hit the Road, Jack!

I get some inspiration from Ray Charles, whom I once saw performing life in Atlanta, Georgia. But I don’t take the Rayettes’ advice about coming back “no more, no more, no more, no more.” I will definitely be back for more. I feel like God has looked down on this part of the world and blessed us with a beautiful day.

Be aware of your addictions. Right or wrong, the truth about me is that I am addicted to caffeine. I don’t know if it’s necessarily bad for me, but if I go too long without caffeine, I get a headache. This can’t keep me from the things I love doing, like exercise.

I saw my neurosurgeon has recommended yoga for me, so I went to a class at my local gym called Yoga Stretch. I learned quite a bit from this instructor. I understand why the doctor recommended yoga. It is basically stretching and becoming more flexible. I want to continue going to the class because I believe it will help me become less prone to injury. In addition, the doctor ordered an MRI of my neck, prescribed physical therapy, and recommended neck traction.

Diet Dept. I get conflicting advice from various sources and this is one of the biggest problems facing anyone who is trying to live a healthy life. Even peer-reviewed medical papers, scientific studies, and government reports can seem to conflict because the parameters and purpose of each study is slightly different. This is one reason you should be suspicious of one-size-fits-all advice. This type of advice is attractive because the statements are simple.

Advice is confusing, especially since there is so much of it available to us. I look at what makes sense to me, and to people I respect. If you want something, find someone who has it, and do what they do. Good advice for health and life. Things I know from experience work well:

    1. Counting calories.
    2. Exercising to increase my calories burned.
    3. Eating throughout the day to eliminate immediate hunger.
    4. Getting at least eight and preferably more hours of sleep at night.

EP 33: Leadership Lessons from Superheroes and Dark Social

EP 33: Leadership Lessons from Superheroes and Dark Social

With a specialisation in leadership we talk to Dr. David Kahn. David found that most leadership content is great, but the delivery is geared towards academics, not frontline leaders. True to his growth mindset nature he decided to do something about it and wrote ‘Cape, Spandex, Briefcase: Leadership Lessons from Superheroes” David is also Editor of the great blog Leadersayswhat. On this week’s show we talk to David about the traits of true leaders which can be drawn from superheroes. We also focus on how these skills can be applied to true innovation. Robert Farrell is Director of the Digital Marketing academy and we talk Dark Social. Robert explains what it is, what the latest trends are and how chatbots and payments are entering the ecosystem at a rapid pace.

Ep. 39: Escape From New York (1981)

Ep. 39: Escape From New York (1981)
Biologists, Jamie and Doug are commissioned by the government to develop a pill casing that is able to become lodged in an artery (without instantly killing the subject) and slowly dissolve over the course of 24 hours. They know better than to ask questions and use a very small percentage of the $10,000,000.00 budget the US government grants them. So they spend the rest of the money on...ummmm, like futuristic robo prostitutes or something like that.
