What is it about children that we must have that will give us the kingdom of God? It's when we realize we are incapable without God and that our faith depends solely on the presence of God to lead us through this life we become child-like. When we surrender all of our own justifications and reasons, and take God at his word, just like a child does his father or mother-- that's when we will see his kingdom come in our lives.
