As a shooting guard, Bryant entered the National Basketball Association (NBA) directly from high school, & played his entire 20-season professional career in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant numbers make him one of the greats: five NBA championships, 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team, 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), two-time NBA Finals MVP winner. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time,Magic Johnson regards him as the best Lakers ever! Kobe led the NBA in scoring during two seasons, ranks fourth on the league's all-time regular season scoring & all-time postseason scoring lists. Legend of The Mamba Mentality!

    Dear Basketball - We just wanted to share our hurt as well as great remorse as we grew up with the black mamba.

    We take time to remember him after his untimely death. He & his daughter Gigi with 7 others lost their lives Sunday morning 1/26/20 in a fatal helicopter crash. A public memorial service was held on February 24 at Staples Center, the Lakers' home arena in downtown Los Angeles. 2/24/20 the numbers representing Gigi #2 Kobe 24 and the #20 years in the NBA with Lakers.
