E2: Starting a Family As a Trans Man With Alex Derham

In this episode, Remy is joined by special guest, Alex.

Alex is originally from Brighton, but moved to Scotland with his wife around 5 years ago. Alex decided to discuss the topic of starting a family as a trans man, as this is something that's extremely close to his heart.

Throughout this highly informative, yet humorous episode, the two discuss: how Alex told his wife he was transgender, whether or not he considered freezing his eggs and carrying his own child, the processes and options available for trans men looking to have children, the method he chose, whether or not he would tell his child they were donor-conceived, when he would tell his child he is a transgender man, plus, Alex provides advice for those looking to have children.

    28: Sperm Donation

Are you a queer couple looking to raise a family? A single person ready to experience parenthood minus the pressure of a relationship? Are you a healthy male who wants to help people achieve their dreams of becoming parents?

Adam Hooper has built Sperm Donation World, a worldwide community that might make it easier for those wanting to start a family the non-traditional way.

Adam shares what you need to do to join the community and highlights what he sees as differences between the SDW community versus traditional sperm donation clinics. He also addresses issues that you might be wanting to know about such as who might be good candidates for donors and recipients, the future of artificial conception and challenges. Adam shares with us his experiences with Filipinos in the community and how in need we really are of appropriate sex education.

Guess what Adam says is the most important trait to bring to the table when joining the community? Honesty.

    We're Starting a Family!

    We're Starting a Family!

Hey, everyone! I'm back with another episode and a VERY big announcement. We're starting a family! My husband and I have been having serious conversations about starting a family, and we are now tossing caution and birth control to the wind! I'm so excited to start this journey with him, and I can't wait to see where it takes us. As per usual, I found a fun article about the signs that you're ready for a baby, and I think I've hit pretty much every single one of them on the list. If you're in the season of conceiving or trying to start a family, I would love to hear about it, so send me a message on Instagram or email me!

Dr. Shahin Ghadir: The Best Time to Freeze Your Eggs is in Your 20's and Healthy Ways to Boost Your Fertility

Dr. Shahin Ghadir: The Best Time to Freeze Your Eggs is in Your 20's and Healthy Ways to Boost Your Fertility

Hi everyone. I hope you're keeping safe, healthy, and hanging in there. Sending love your way and my thoughts are with you.

    -----

It is easy to not really worry about the future when you're young but unfortunately women should think twice and do so especially when it comes to considering having a baby. They are at a disadvantage with their biological clock and it is crazy for some to start thinking about freezing their eggs in their 20's. This episode explores egg freezing and embryo freezing with this week's incredible guest, Dr. Shahin Ghadir. Dr. Shahin Ghadir is double board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Ghadir is a top physician for egg freezing and is a founding partner of Southern California Reproductive Center. He helps both traditional families and the LGBTQ community achieve their goals of having the family of their dreams. He's been featured in People Magazine, BBC News, The Today Show, ABC News, Marie Claire, Fox News, The Doctors, and so many more.

Dr. Ghadir shares with us how the process of egg freezing is like and its average cost as well as the types of food he recommends to boost fertility and reproductive health. He also talks about what type of blood test to get to check your egg count. He has a charitable organization called Fertility For All which raises funds and awareness for those that need aid in starting a family.
