074: How to move forward positively from disappointing exam results

2022 saw the return of national exams (externally marked), for the first time in the UK in 3 years, i.e. since the pandemic. Young people around the world have truly been resilient and getting back into their stride.

There is so much to celebrate, including a slew of excellent results which are a powerful springboard towards what's next.

That said, this year, as was the case in every year prior to the pandemic too - there are some students who did not achieve the grades they needed to access what they want to do next. That may be an apprenticeship or university.

Missing an offer for a specific university, course or both can be devastating so in this episode we look at 7 important steps on the  journey from disappointing results to moving positively onto the next stage.

There are specifics, examples, anecdotes and much more in this episode.

If you are anyone you know is currently navigating disappointing exam results - do check out this episode. I hope it gives you some peace and helps with your plans moving forward.

    Making friends at university

    Making friends at university

One of the biggest questions people have before starting university is 'will I make any friends?'
It's an understandable thing to be concerned about, but everyone else feels the same too and there are loads of different places and opportunities to make friends once you start - from halls to societies to your course.

In this episode Kristina, Feroz and Lucy chat about their experiences of making friends, and some of the unexpected places they found them!

051: What next for the (secondary / high school) Class of 2021

051: What next for the (secondary / high school) Class of 2021

If you completed your GCSEs, A-Levels, IB, BTECs or your equivalent of these high school / secondary school exams - CONGRATS! You did it! In this crazy time of Covid which has turned so much of our world upside down - you completed these significant qualifications.

So what comes next for you?

(If you are a parent / key supporter of someone who did - this episode will be useful to you too).

In this episode, we talk about what comes next at 16+ and then (from about 11 mins) what comes after 18+.

Broadly speaking - those next steps are likely to include further full time study (at a sixth form, college, university etc.), an apprenticeship, a job and / or a gap year... but you will know that even though it's not a hugely long list of options - details are everything and you may be feeling a wide range of emotions and / or uncertain about the next step for you.

Listen to this episode and hopefully you will be poised to readily embrace what comes next.
