I have heard that there are still some games being played at Rucker Park. I've been hearing about Kyrie Irving that he has a team called A11 and that his team is a winner. I've seen some highlights from Rucker Park Men's Championship game of 2023. It was A11 versus hidden talent 79 to 77 A11.

So who is Kyrie Irving? He is a professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA. Irving wears number 11 for a multitude of reasons.

So today you've heard something about summer basketball of 2023: The Rucker Park Men's Championship. You've learned that Kyrie has a team A11Even who has played against another team called Hidden Talent. Hopefully, they'll be more games at Rucker Park for 2024.

Hi! I'm Gail Nobles on EPS. I haven't talked about streetball in a while. I want to talk about Streetball Legend Ed Booger Smith. I heard him talk about his love for the game of basketball and how he tried to survive. I heard Ed talk about playing with Michael Jordan. He talked about what his career could have been. From my understanding, he's a great streetball legend but didn't play in the NBA.

When I listen to Ed, it makes me think about things two ways. If he had played for the NBA, things might would have been good for him. On the other hand, things might would have been bad for him. Sometimes we think it's a bad thing when we miss an opportunity, and sometimes it's not a bad thing. It might be in God’s will that sometimes things don't happen for us. Sometimes God can see things that could happen in our lives that we don't see.

If Ed had went to the NBA, he might would have made some good friends or a lot of bad enemies. It didn't sound like people were on Ed’s side while trying to make it when I heard his story. There is always going to be some jealousy and people that try to hold you back.

Somebody could have helped Ed. Somebody understood Ed and knew how to help him. Someone knew he had a gift, but people don't always do what they say they are going to do.

I'm just glad that Ed stayed alive and became a great streetball legend. He can make others a streetball legend or help them to become what he didn’t. God didn't put us on earth for nothing. God can use Ed, and when God uses you, and you overcome and do what you're supposed to do, he will reward you. Ed has already made it as far as being a great streetball legend. Some can't get as far as that, and some that can chooses not to be in the NBA. They love Streetball. I love watching Streetball better than I do watching the NBA.

Ed Smith may have made some mistakes in his life when he was very young like anyone else. Yes, he could have made it to the NBA, but I think that if it were in God's will, he would have gotten there. It may be that God had a bigger plan and better one. Never give up. If Ed is still around, he's older and should be wiser now. Sometimes that's when good things happen.

It is said that those who saw Booger play in his prime claim he was an NBA level playmaker. He grew up playing against top NBA point guards like Rod Strickland, Rafter Alston, and Kenny Anderson.

Ed Booger Smith is a streetball player from Brooklyn, New York. He played point guard. He is best known for being featured in the 1997 documentary ‘Sole In The Hole’ when he was 17 years old. Smith is also one of a few Streetballers who have ever appeared on the cover of a magazine Sports illustrated. See, they could see that he was great. Smith is known for his dribbling and passing abilities from the little clip that I have seen of him playing basketball. He was very fast. I'm sure that he could have played in the NBA.

Moustapha Sonko entame sa carrière de basketteur professionnel au club de Sceaux en 1990. Champion et MVP de Pro B. Plus tard, il intégrera le club de l'ASVEL avec qui il sera MVP de Pro A avant de rejoindre le championnat espagnol. Plusieurs fois sélectionné en équipe de France, il attendra la finale en 2000 lors des Jeux Olympique de Sydney. Streetball

Have you ever seen or heard of the double dunk? I've never seen a player double dunk before. Have you ever heard of a man that played basketball name Earl Manigualt? According to Wikipedia, he was an American Street basketball player who was nicknamed “The Goat” or “The Lip”. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players to never play in the NBA. To dunk a ball then dunk it in again before coming back down sounds hot I believe he was one of the greatest.


Earl was born in Charleston South Carolina and raised in Harlem New York. Manigualt was particularly famous for his leaping abilities on the basketball court much of his legend is unsupported playground myth including his signature move the double dunk. He allegedly would dunk the ball, catch it with his left hand, switch the ball to his right hand, bring it back around to the top of the basket and jam it through again, all done while still in the air on a single jump and without hanging on the rim. This is a story repeatedly told but unconfirmed. It was refuted by Manigualt himself in a CNN interview available on YouTube when he called the reports of this feat rubbish, stating not even the goat could do that. I wonder why he said that. I believe he did it, and it has been said that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar knew him and said he was the goat. Earl Manigualt played with Kareem and other players such as Earl Monroe & Connie Hawkins.

Like all the street basketball as of the day such as Jackie Jackson, Manigualt was reportedly able to touch the top of the backboard to retrieve quarters and dollar bills.

Manigualt passed away from congestive heart failure in 1998 at the age of 53. Although he never played in the NBA and only briefly played in college, the legend of Manigualt has spread far and wide and led to his play being glorified in magazines books and movies. In 1996 HBO aired a TV movie about Manigualt’s life entitled “Rebound: The Legend of Earl “The Goat” Manigault.

Nach dem Podcast hat Paul uns dann zu einer Kölner Institution in Sachen "Grill-Haus" mitgenommen und eine kleine Stadtführung durchs nächtliche Köln gegeben. Hello! I’m Gail Nobles on EPS. Today’s topic: Country Hoops.

They always talk about Streetball and asphalt, but I never hear about basketball in the country on the grass. Well, I don’t have to hear about it. I know about it. They talk about Dr. J at the Rucker Park and how he drew a crowd. How people were sitting up in the trees to watch him play. But when you play basketball on the grass surrounded by trees, it’s hard.

Guys and girls would come to my house to play ball with me and my brother. They were pretty good, but when you’re used to playing on a gym floor or on asphalt, it’s not as easy to dribble the ball playing on grass. And we tried bouncing the ball on the grass so much until after awhile, it got easier because the grass started dying. After awhile, there was nothing but a big circle of dirt where we bounced the ball the most.

Whenever we would try to shoot some hoops, there was a big tree over the basketball goal. It’s branches would block some of our shots. The branches were like long arms in our way, but all those obstacles trained us more how to play.

The Professor

The Professor disguised himself as Spider-Man and went to various basketball courts in the Los Angeles area to play against unsuspected competitors. I’m your host, Gail Nobles.

Grayson Boucher known as the Professor. An American Streetball player and actor. You may have seen him on AND1 Mixtape Tour, and he appeared in several movies.

I believe he would have been the best in the NBA y’all. He had a lot of energy, and I believed that whatever team he would have played on, he would have helped that team win. The Professor was fast. I’m surprised I don’t get dizzy trying to keep up with him, watching him on video, and watching him bounce the ball.

The Professor has what it takes to play in the NBA. He knows how to play basketball. In the NBA, he might would have to change up a little bit as far as his moves. The Professor knows what’s legal and illegal. He has played and worked out with NBA players. I think the Professor has enough experience and on a high enough level to play in the NBA.

When you’re good at something, people can see it, and there are always going to be some critics, and people telling you that you are not good enough. Even if they know that you’re good enough sometimes. They just don’t want you to know it. I think it’s all just envy or else they would tell you how good you are and maybe what you need to work on.

I look at some of the NBA players sometimes, and I don’t think some of them are as good as the Professor, but everybody has an opinion.

Dennis Rodman è stato uno dei personaggi più estroversi, anti-conformisti e controversi dello sport americano negli anni 90. Una specie di Dr. Jekyll e Mr. Hyde passato alla storia tanto per essere stato il miglior rimbalzista e uno dei migliori difensori della storia NBA, quanto per le sue relazioni con Madonna e Carmen Elektra, quanto per le sue risse dentro e fuori dal campo sul ring della WWE. Un essere umano poco allineato con il resto dei suoi simili, che ad un certo punto tra 96 e 98 era persino più conosciuto e riconoscibile di Michael Jordan, leader di quei Bulls che senza Dennis, non avrebbero mai vinto 3 titoli consecutivi. Su "The Worm", dal nomignolo che gli diedero le sorelle quando da piccolo sprecava le giornate spalmato sul divano come un verme, si è detto, scritto e raccontato di tutto. Ma poco si sa di come Dennis sia arrivato ad essere la personalità che era, di come il verme che aveva dentro, continuava a tormentarlo e di come ciò che tutti hanno visto sia stata per davvero solo la punta di un iceberg complesso e sfaccettato. Anzi, colorato, come i suoi indimenticabili capelli.

La cultura del mixtape, cd e cassette con pezzi inediti, demo e strumentali mixate tra loro per diffondere su supporto fisico e far circolare così i primi pezzi rap, è profondamente radicata nella cultura hiphop. A inizio anni 2000 il Dj Set Free Richardson ebbe l'intuizione di fondere i mixtape musicali mettendone a tempo i pezzi con spezzoni video di streetballer incredibili che di lì a poco sarebbero stati messi sotto contratto dal nascente brand d'abbigliamento e sneakers And1. Fu una rivoluzione: il boom bap dell'hiphop batteva a tempo con palleggi e canestri di nuove leggende del playground che grazie a quei mixtape in formato DVD divennero delle star planetarie con una serie di And1 Mixtape Tour. Nel frattempo Nike ed Adidas risposero al nuovo trend mettendo sotto contratto tutti i bad guys della NBA: da Jason Williams a Latrell Sprewell, da Iverson ad Arenas. Basket ed hiphop diventarono una cosa sola. Gli streetballer come Hot Sauce, The Professor e Skip To My Lou stavano cambiando modo di giocare, comunicare ed esprimersi in campo. Questa è la storia della rivoluzione del mixtape...ed è raccontata proprio in quel formato: gli interventi parlati sono concepiti quasi come delle strofe ad intervallare pezzi di storia della musica hiphop anni 90 e 2000: DMX, Methodman & Redman, Black Starr, Dr. Dre, 50 Cents, Grand Master Flash, Lauryn Hill, Nas e molti altri.
