    https://www.play-season.com/

    TESTO TRASCRITTO (English below)

    ENGLISH TRANSLATION
'Season' is a video game that starts from a very simple premise, that is the one that our ancestors have, had millennia available, our parents had centuries ahead of them, while us, our generation we only have one season left. This is because there is some catastrophe looming on Earth and therefore there is only one season of time to accomplish the task. Well, said like that, it sounds quite dramatic as a video game, but it is the most beautiful, peaceful and relaxing one can imagine. The game is called 'Season' and, it is true, this video game is a bit melancholic, if you know the films of Studio Ghibli, it remembers exactly this type of setting, and it seems in fact fresh out of Studio Ghibli, but producing this video game that is called 'Season' is instead a company called Scavengers Studio. What is it about? It is the story of a boy, whom we always see from behind, so the story is narrated in the third person, he is armed with a bicycle and microphone and goes in search of the sounds to be saved, because there is this impending catastrophe, he wants to save the sounds one at a time, choosing them very carefully, to create a kind of... a kind of time capsule where to enclose these sounds. I haven't seen the game of course because it's not out yet, it'll be published this year, they haven't specified when, but I saw the trailer (I'll put the link in the program notes) and it's really worth watching. It is an absolutely minimalist game, and the main character goes in search of the small details, in his, or rather the narrator's words, "to meet the local people" the locals, and it also explains that it was inspired by the prints, the ancient Japanese woodcuts. It is a video game that I can't wait to play, and to see and enjoy, even if the term 'play' seems a bit out of place to me because it is more a meditation, and then being a game that is all about gathering, collecting and researching sounds, you can understand that for a soundscape creator like myself, I am very excited at the thought of exploring this world which, as I said, just from watching the trailer, it is truly fantastic, full of meticulous attention to detail, and I have put it in my wish list on Steam, and I'll buy it as soon as it comes out.
