Jesus is the great giant killer because he defeated the grave, sin, and Satan through his suffering and death. In this sermon we see how God used David to defeat Goliath. David experienced little encouragement from those around him but he still won victories against his adversaries. God almighty had the victory at hand for David and Gods army.

• Joshua 6 • Pastor Peter Franz • Our daily battles even when small, can overwhelm us. God has control over all of these and more. We just need to bring them before Him for he has a plan for us in every situation and will give us the victory. In this sermon Joshua, after getting a report from the spies about Jericho, seeks God's plan; God gives Jericho to the Israelite's when they follow His plan.

Some losses are losses of things we never had; a safe childhood where we were protected and treasured. Attention to our needs and protection from what hurts. For a person abused as a child, the grief is for what never was and for the impact of that on our lives as adults. But there is the inspiration that comes when we love ourselves through these most terrible losses and find that life can be beautiful, enriching and fulfilled. Susan Jacobi has made it her life's work to encourage people who suffered abuse and trauma as children to find their best lives and move forward into them.
