Chapter 245 - "The Dynamic Range of the Human Experience Being Done Musically" ...as read by William Goldsmith

This week I am so excited to have William Goldsmith join the podcast. Will has a new band, Assertion, and they’re releasing their debut record, Intermission, this Friday, April 9th on Spartan Records. Will chats about growing up and his love for the Beatles, the formation of Sunny Day Real Estate, Emo, and how his children have inspired his new band.

Ep. 015 My Chat With Chris Conley Of Saves The Day

I have loved Saves The Day for 20 years... so needless to say I was thrilled to be able to share this episode with y’all!

Chris Conley is by far one of the nicest people on the planet! He is so friggin' talented and creates some of the best music out there. He is also so very humble and also so funny!

In this episode we answer the questions y’all had for him on my Instagram, health, happiness, our love for California, growing up in the 80’s & 90’s, creativity, his friendship & collaboration with his rad pal Lloyd Vines, his life as a dad and MUCH MORE!

We add SIX songs to the podcast soundtrack!

The first three are Chris’ picks!

Archers Of Loaf- Web In Front

    Sunny Day Real Estate- Seven

    Jawbreaker- Jinx Removing

I add two songs we mention in the episode which are:

The Get Up Kids- I’ll Catch You

    The Family Man (2000)

    The Family Man (2000)

Ryan and Jay break down an underrated Christmas film starring Nicholas Cage, Tea Leoni, and Don Cheadle, called The Family Man (2000). This week's recommendations include Big Little Lies (Season 2), Jumanji (Next Level). Regrets include Bad Teacher, and The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard. Music picks for the Spotify playlist includes Sunny Day Real Estate and Guns 'n' Roses, and Hey Mercedes, and Rush. The boys wrap up the show talking about a couple high powered brews from Wolverine State Brewing and Dark Horse Brewing.

Jamie Holmes of Double Decker Records

Jamie Holmes of Double Decker Records

Jamie Holmes is a self-made man. Jamie has been a cornerstone in the punk and indie Lehigh Valley PA scene as the owner of Double Decker Records. Double Decker started back in 96 and still going strong. Listen to how Jamie had do duck and weave his way to remain relevant for almost twenty years. There is so much to know, but it remains the same as every other story: the most important tool is flexibility. Jamie knows what he's doing. Then we are joined by his associates Ray Gurz and Chris Bickert. Ray is the leader of the band Tile as well as another called Bad American. (I shoved a Tile song in here for you somewhere...) Chris is not only the nicest guy ever, he's also Braid's tour manager (Don't believe me? Bob Nanna himself said so in Chapter 12.) Plus he brought donuts. These are the people in my neighborhood...in my neighborhood...in my neighborhood...but they're in your neighborhood now, too thanks to the magic of podcasting. Enjoy. (No donuts though...)

One more thing: Nate Allen, friend of the show, has a lil' rekkid coming out with his group Nate Allen And The Pac Away Dots. The album is called "Take Out The Trash" and it is available for pre-order right now. It's coming out on Sept 18th. Tell your friends. Nate's a good egg. Buy his album...link is below. Nate loves you. Take care. Bye-bye.
