Episode 50: Ashley Fires, Princess Dandy, and Alex More at Woodhull

Episode 50: Ashley Fires, Princess Dandy, and Alex More at Woodhull

Episode 50 is our first episode back after a 6-month hiatus! We are happy to report that PJ is now officially cancer free, and this means that we can relaunch!

This episode is a bit of a time capsule, going all the way back to the fall of 2019, before our personal lives were uprooted by cancer and the rest of the world was disrupted by COVID-19. Wow, does that seem like a lifetime ago?!

We feature interviews that we did at the Woodhull Sexual Freedom Summit. First, we interview professional dominatrix Princess Dandy and porn star Ashley Fires; they talk about their experience at Woodhull, the work they do with SWOP New Hampshire, and the need for sex workers to come together in support of one another.

Then, we talk to brothel worker Alex More about life at the Bunny Ranch. She talks about the nuts and bolts of living and working in a legal brothel, and how it differs from the other types of sex work she has done.

Episode 37: Special Episode: International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers

Episode 37: Special Episode: International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers

Episode 37 is our last for 2018. We end the year with a special episode that features live coverage from SWOP Pittsburgh’s December 17 event held in honor of the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.

We begin our episode with an interview of Christa Daring, SWOP USA’s Executive Director. They tell us about the history of the day, what organizations around the country are doing to commemorate it, and why it is important. We then move to a recording of the event that we, along with our SWOP Pittsburgh colleagues, organized and ran. First, we share the vigil, written and performed by SWOP member Moriah Ella Mason, then we move into a storytelling portion of the night, emceed by SWOP Pittsburgh member Nicole.

Episode 16: Megan Guza on Condoms as 'Instruments of Crime' in Prostitution Cases and Graydancer on FOSTA/SESTA's Impact on the Kink Community

Episode 16: Megan Guza on Condoms as 'Instruments of Crime' in Prostitution Cases and Graydancer on FOSTA/SESTA's Impact on the Kink Community

We start Episode 16 with a brief update on our lives and a new format for the show.

Then, we have a discussion with Megan Guza about her article, "Condoms Criminalized in Allegheny County Prostitution Cases," where she reports on the way that condoms have been criminalized in prostitution cases, putting sex workers at risk. We also talk about the work that we did with SWOP Pittsburgh to challenge these practices.

Finally, we talk to Graydancer, a writer, sex and kink presenter, and host of the Ropecast. We discuss kink education and the impact FOSTA/SESTA will have on the kink community.
