Kyle shares about his trip to Normandy, Beaune, and Paris, France. From the Overlord Museum to the day trip to Mont Saint Michele, Kyle’s descriptions of Normandy definitely added that city to our bucket list. Beaune had a medieval wall that you could walk on, and all of the wine. And while Paris was not Kyle’s favorite, he’d definitely recommend the Catacombs.

Kristen and Adrian started their trip in Amsterdam, where they recommend using the Holland Pass to see lots of attractions at a discount. They enjoyed the Richart Museum, the Ice Bar, a river cruise, and the House of Bulls Gin Company. In Paris, they enjoyed a lot of the classics, and then, for Adrian’s birthday, Kristen created her own Amazing Race Challenge! They spent most of their trip in Romania, where Adrian is from. He showed Kristen the capital city, the La Sanic mineral water springs, the Bicas Gorge, the Red Lake. They tried the dessert Kirtoshkolax, which is bread wrapped around a spit. Adrian says that if you’re going to see one cave in Romania, go to the Bear Cave in the west. They also visited a Salt Mine that had an amusement park in it!

Trent shares about his epic trip to New Zealand. Setting up home base in Rotorua, Trent took day trips to visit other areas of the country, including Hobbiton. He went to the glow worm caves, where he repelled into a cave, went on a zipline, and inner-tubed down an underwater river. He also rolled down a hill in a bubble and swam with dolphins. New Zealand offered so many outdoor adventures for Trent, that he’s going back!
We also share in our love for list making and planning, and Trent brags about his robust spreadsheet. Trent would recommend asking locals for advice to find out the inside scoop to a place.

Jordan lived in Galway, Ireland for a year as an Au Pair, where she lived with a family that she nannied for. Galway is a very musical city, with buscars everywhere! They have a big Halloween parade put on by the Macnus performers. Jordan describes the winding geography of this medieval city, going to Griffin’s Bakery, Coffeewerk + Press, and then walking over the Salthill Promenade. She shares about the cultural differences she noticed while living abroad!

Ryan’s former student, Tommy, joins us to share about a trip he took before studying abroad! Turns out sometimes the cheapest route to Bilbao is through Israel - who knew? Tommy also got to visit Petra, like, you know, the one from Indiana Jones! It’s several miles big, and at night time, they put out hundreds of candles and play music. He also saw a location from The Martian and Lawrence of Arabia. Hear about the hot weather, eating goat, crossing the border without knowing the language, spending $25 a day on water, and allllllll of the walking.
