In this week's #YuenReads  - part of our podcast where Yuen yet again shares the books that made a difference for Yuen and inspired her deeply. These are not book reviews - she considers impact those reads had on her - this time Yuen talks about 'Cassandra Speaks: When Women Are The Storytellers, The Human Story Changes' by Elizabeth Lesser. It changes her perspective on who are the storytellers and how things such as history are being written and how they have a ripple effect on the world now. Focusing the lens instead to who said it and why allows you to gain different perspective to the narrative around us.

Grady and the rest of Anxious just needed a chance. That's what they got when Pat Flynn from Fiddlehead came into the picture. After they put out a demo in 2017, a friend of theirs sent the demo to Pat. They had never met Pat and he never met them either. But, a few days later Pat decided to make a major post about how great Anxious is. Grady says his jaw dropped to the ground when he saw that. Soon after they were asked to do a few shows with Fiddlehead. Pat has always been in their corner and told people to give them a chance. Grady says Anxious probably would have never played outside of Connecticut, or even their hometown for that matter, without having Pat start to the conversation. It led to so many other things like the record you are listening to today. 

Anxious recently put out one of the most highly anticipated records of the year called, "Little Green House." It was the most time they have worked on an album, putting long hours into the music at the drummers house.. Grady and the band were consistently writing music during the pandemic. No tours were happening, which gave them all the time in the world to write a record. It was the first time Grady felt like music was his job. The hard work paid off because "Little Green House" is receiving endless praise. Check out the band below!
