Could Pelosi's Taiwan trip send shockwaves through tech? Tech stock earnings, infrastructure for AI, and an $NVDA bull thesis w/ Josh Goltry

Could Pelosi's Taiwan trip send shockwaves through tech? Tech stock earnings, infrastructure for AI, and an $NVDA bull thesis w/ Josh Goltry

Josh Goltry is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer at JAG Capital.

During this chat, Josh explains why investors should listen to earnings calls of companies they don't own to gain an edge. He also explains why investors shouldn't consider tech stocks growth stocks anymore.

Ahead of Nancy Pelosi's purported trip to Taiwan, Josh shares his thoughts on how a destabilization of US-China relations could affect chip-maker TSM—a company he calls the most systemically important in the world. He also articulates the urgency and implications of bringing chip manufacturing to the US.

Josh then talks about Nvidia—a company he describes as the connective tissue of the world's entire tech infrastructure. He delivers his thesis on the firm, remarking that there is no better-placed company in the world in the decades ahead.

Josh talks about Tesla and how the companies with the largest AI training sets will be unassailable. He also explains why pitching Tesla at Point72 in 2019 cost him a position there.

How to build a career that plays to your strengths, giving founders the help they really need, and the +/- impact of companies at scale w/ Sarah Kunst

How to build a career that plays to your strengths, giving founders the help they really need, and the +/- impact of companies at scale w/ Sarah Kunst

We're so excited to be talking with Sarah Kunst, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Cleo Capital. Cleo Capital is a multi-stage venture capital firm that focuses on leading investments in pre-seed companies.

During a stimulating and inspiring 50 minutes, Sarah talks to us about her start in advertising, her uncanny knack for knowing what's next, and her long-held passion for the “people side” of business.

We learn that, despite calling herself a great bullshitter, Sarah is always ready to roll up her sleeves and take a decidedly no-bullshit approach to her work. She shares how she recognizes the importance of providing founders with practical help that they actually need, especially if that help isn't particularly glamourous. In one instance, this entailed babysitting for founders so that they could attend an important dinner with a potential investor.

Sarah tells us how the best hedge against imposter syndrome is playing to your strengths and picking up ancillary skills as you need them. She also divulges the central question she asks looking at investment opportunities: "At scale, will this company be a net positive or negative for the world?" and explains how the answer brings her one step closer to purchasing a superyacht.

Join hosts Atoya Burleson and Tia Avril as they get spiritual on the insideLINES podcast!

First, Atoya and Tia kick off the episode with highlights from another busy week! Tia attended Ciara Wilson’s launch event for her new rum Ten to One! Atoya had lots of kids and sports this week, but mostly found time to relax with her husband Nate.

Then, it’s time for “Hot Takes” where the ladies share their thoughts on comments made by ESPN’s Sportcenter Co-host, Sage Steele during her interview with former NFL QB Jay Cutler on his podcast Uncut with Jay Cutler. Sage made some outrageous comments regarding former President Barack Obama’s identity as well as some comments on female sports reporters and sexual harassment.

Next up, Sara Lovestyle joins us for an amazing chat! Sara, a serial entrepreneur and wife to former NFL defensive tackle Ziggy Hood, shares how she reunited with the Virginia pastor who sponsored her family from a Sudanese refugee camp and how having a heart attack at age 23 led to her launching her brand “Sara Lovestyle.” She also reflects on the blame and guilt she felt raising a child with autism and her husband’s struggle to talk about the challenges of raising special needs children as well as her journey to starting her own spice company Belay & Bell. She’s even started dabbling in CPG and tech investing!

Then, it's on to the Fantasy Football segment where Atoya and Tia give you updates on the latest injuries in the NFL and some suggest on fantasy replacements for all these injured players!

Finally, they wrap things up with Mindful Moments where Kristyn Bly offers her view on surviving the past 18 months and, more importantly, persevering.

If you want to help us out, be sure to follow, rate and review the podcast on the Apple Podcast app. Thanks so much for listening and supporting our show! We really appreciate you.
