In Need to Know, Isaiah reminds listeners that Mercury isn't the only planet with a retrograde, and walks through how to survive all the retrogrades of the solar system. In All the Feels, classic game shows take center stage; Bianca favors quiz shows, while Isaiah prefers sheer fun and foolishness...almost a half-dozen asides make for a hysterical segment. In Gotta Do, Halle Berry inspires the co-hosts to be unbothered.

About the Green Dragon Tavern Show

“Talking a little treason.” Veteran political operative Zach Lautenschlager and retired MLB pitcher Dennis Sarfate bring breaking news and inside commentary on American culture, politics and business.

The Green Dragon Tavern is where Paul Revere and the Sons of Liberty gathered in Boston during the American Revolution. “Let us go to the Green Dragon and talk a little treason,” Founding Father Samuel Adams would say, tongue in cheek, according to legend.

Today, the Green Dragon Tavern Show is where free men and women gather in defense of freedom.

"Don’t Therapize Me!" with Senator Mazie Hirono

"Don’t Therapize Me!" with Senator Mazie Hirono

Erin Ryan and Alyssa Mastromonaco dive into the week’s news — which, à la Succession, is very Shit Show at the Fuck Factory — covering the Tennessee Three saga, Kid Rock shooting cases of beer because Bud Light likes Dylan Mulvaney, and Dianne Feinstein being MIA. Senator Mazie Hirono then joins to talk about Judge Kacsmaryk’s mifepristone decision and how that’s impacting abortion rights in our nation going forward. Next, Amanda Nguyen and Kiran Deol come on to talk gaslighting, boundary setting, and toxic traits as they analyze the rise in using therapy speak off the psych couch. Finally, some Sani-Petty, featuring snobby winos and literate Angelenos.

A notch in the belt of crazy

In this episode, we talk about the shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville. It was a tragic event that hit very close to home. Lots of political opinions in this episode which was recorded as the Tennessee Legislature voted to expel Rep. Justin Jones after he, Rep. Justin Pearson (who was also expelled) and Rep. Gloria Johnson stood  in solidarity with protestors and millions of people who want to live without fear of gun violence.

NO JUSTINS NO PEACE - AND HARLAN CROW, COLLECTOR - 4.10.23

NO JUSTINS NO PEACE - AND HARLAN CROW, COLLECTOR - 4.10.23

EPISODE 174: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN

A-Block (1:42) SPECIAL COMMENT: No Justins, No Peace. The Nashville Metro Council today votes to replace the expelled Justin Jones with...Justin Jones! But a Memphis rep says her city has been threatened with the loss of $350 Million in state revenue if it replaces the expelled Justin Pearson with...Justin Pearson. Just think about it: a week ago you had no idea who either of these men were! Thank you, Cracker Fascist-Republicans! (5:42) WE ALL KNOW what Clarence Thomas IS, we're just arguing about the price. Now we're arguing whether or not the guy who bought him is also a Nazi sympathizer because he happens to own a house full of Hitler memorabilia including paintings he painted. Did Thomas give Harlan Crow a heads-up on the Citizens United decision? Maybe worse still: Harlan Crow also gave money to Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema! (14:58) LIBERTY OR REPUBLICANS:: Texas's Governor tries to legalize political assassination, and Montana tries to solve the risk of re-electing a Democratic Senator with a new law that simply eliminates Democratic candidates. (20:50) HAPPY EASTER From The Defendant: Trump becomes what he has always deserved to be: just a punchline in my podcast.

B-Block (25:25) IN SPORTS: The most dominant start to a baseball season since 1884. One problem: in 1884 the team was so dominant it caused the league to fold. More Problems with NHL Pride Night. And America's greatest political orator, Coach Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs, goes off on school gun violence (32:13) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Matt Taibbi learns you can always relay on Elon Musk, he'll always let you down. RFK Jr hires his key man: Dennis Kucinich? And what kind of baseball article is titled "Starters Who Can't Keep It Up"?

C-Block (37:15) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Naitan in Tennessee (38:15) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: From Jack Kerouac to Keith Hernandez to me, writers and fans and athletes have simply created imaginary baseball leagues and played fantasy and table-top baseball. It's so prevalent that one man created a fictional Major League Baseball player named Lou Proctor and actually got him into the record books!

S4E19 Beach Talk #102 Democracy on Trial

Ken and Betsey's week in review - Wisconsin overwhelmingly elects Janet Protasiewicz as progressive Justice to the State Supreme Court and sends a message to a Republican-ruled Legislature. It's an indicator of public reaction to the draconian legislation advanced by extreme conservatism. In Betsey's Chicago, former Mayor Lori Lightfoot's successor, Brandon Johnson has been elected. Ken and Betsey share a love for the Windy City and discuss the political climate there. The same day as the election,  former President appeared before prosecutor Alvin Bragg and New York Judge Juan Manuel Merchan to be formally indicted on 34 criminal counts as the world watched. The two discuss reactions from both detractors and supporters of the proceedings. The Tennessee Legislature became the focus of a massive student protest prompted by the horrific shooting at a Christian school in Nashville. Three elected legislators (The Tennessee Three - Justin Jones, Justin Pearson, and Gloria Johnson) joined in the protests and faced an expulsion vote by a Republican-controlled Assembly. Betsey closes by asking Ken about Easter plans, then sharing her own.

Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison

Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison

Hi Folks!  For this months full episode we listen to Johnny Cash's 1968 album "At Folsom Prison".  The first in a series of live albums from Cash all recorded in prisons.  "At Folsom Prison" came at a pivotal time in Cash's career as the singer/song writer was trying to turn his career around after several years of limited commercial success. With June Carter, Carl Perkins and the Tennessee Three backing Cash "At Folsom Prison" became a huge success for both Cash and Columbia Records.  This album features the staple versions of songs such as "Folsom Prison Blues", "Cocaine Blues" and "Jackson". While also featuring country standards like "The Wall" and "Green Green Grass of Home".  "At Folsom Prison" shows a different side of Johnny Cash and is not to be missed by fans of Cash's more mainstream work.  Thanks for listening!
