THE ICEMAN Richard Kuklinski | SERIAL KILLER FILES
Richard Kuklinski, also known as the "Iceman," was a notorious American contract killer and organized crime figure who operated from the 1960s through the 1980s. He claimed to have murdered over 100 people, including fellow criminals and innocent bystanders and was known for his brutality and willingness to kill in a variety of ways. Kuklinski was eventually arrested in 1986 and convicted of multiple counts of murder and other crimes, receiving multiple life sentences. He died in prison in 2006.

Traditiegetrouw zal Guido Weijers ook dit jaar weer in het theater staan met de Oudejaarsconference. Het thema van dit jaar gaat over rustig ademhalen en afkoelen. En dat is volgens Guido ook hard nodig. Want er is crisis, oorlog, er zijn protesten en over het algemeen heel veel onvrede. "Dan is ademhalen en afkoelen precies wat we nodig hebben." Het thema is geïnspireerd door 'The Iceman', Wim Hof, bij wie ademhalen en afkoelen ook centraal staat. Hij is dan ook terug te zien in de Oudejaarsconference.
Ook zal Guido het gaan hebben over de 'cancel culture'. Je kunt niets meer op internet plaatsen, zonder dat je er commentaar op krijgt. "Het maakt tegenwoordig niet uit wat je online zet. Mensen grijpen alles aan om maar ergens over te kunnen klagen." Daar is Guido klaar mee. Het is daarom ook één van de thema's zijn die worden besproken tijdens de conference.

Historians Joe Wojie and Britnee Smith are joined by Historian Ted Sisco, Ethics Professor Tim Collins, and Psychologist and Horror Writer Frank Jakoweicz.

Wim Hof (born 20 April 1959), also known as The Iceman, is a Dutch extreme athlete noted for his ability to withstand freezing temperatures. He has set Guinness world records for swimming under ice and prolonged full-body contact with ice, and still holds the record for a barefoot half-marathon on ice and snow. He attributes these feats to his Wim Hof Method (WHM), a combination of frequent cold exposure, breathing techniques and meditation.
