If you are identical, basically the two of you are the same, one of you would be unnecessary. - Alisa DiLorenzo

What we can create is better together than what we would do on our own. - Tony DiLorenzo

For the first time in The Leadership Project, we are featuring "couplepreneurs" and fellow podcasters Tony and Alisa DiLorenzo.

    060. 4 Leadership Styles with Scott Ritzheimer

    060. 4 Leadership Styles with Scott Ritzheimer

💭 What is the best way to predict a team’s future success? How should your leadership style change in view of where your team is in its lifecycle? Does team development have a compounding effect or is it cyclical?

We are joined today by a rising business star, Scott Ritzheimer, the CEO of Scale Architects, where he uses the Predictable Success methodology to help organizations scale and sustain success. Scott helped start nearly 20,000 new businesses and nonprofits and with his business partner started leading their multimillion-dollar business through an exceptional and extended growth phase, over 10 years of double-digit growth all before he turned 35.

Scott explains in this episode of The Leadership Project the 4 leadership styles that bring together a team where individuals actively contribute to better the current state and consequently, execute to achieve the future state.

It was tempting to expand on the analogies as we talked about the imperative roles each team member plays and how leaders can get a team to move together. There is a difference between fighter pilots and ground infantry, between a pianist and drummer or between introverts and extroverts, and it is in the leader’s capability to lean into their strengths that will co-create a harmonious work environment.

We enumerate these 4 interdependent leadership styles as excerpt from Scott’s business partner Les McKeown’s book Predictable Success:

    1. Visionary: The Visionaries are the starters. They are full of ideas, comfortable at risk taking and exceedingly flexible.
    2. Operator: The Operators are the doers. They are detail-oriented and can improvise the next steps to get to their goal.
    3. Processor: Processors think in algorithms and are risk averse. They are naturally inclined towards systems, processes, execution, and protocol.
    4. Synergist: The Synergist is what makes a corporate team a team. They aspire to make teamwork essential.
