Ingemar Backman - FNRad Season 8 Raffle Bonus

Ingemar Backman - FNRad Season 8 Raffle Bonus

Megajoink made three art pieces and had them signed by three legends: Peter Line, Ingemar Backman, And Terje Haakonsen.

I asked Megajoink to donate one of his signed masterpieces to the FNRad Season 8 Raffle and he agreed. So I set about to record short interviews with the three legends.

As fate would have it, only two were available for an interview, this is the second one.

I am overdue to draw for the Art Piece as I'm writing this. I will post this and then do a live draw on instagram.

FNRad Season 8 Recap - Bonus episode

FNRad Season 8 Recap - Bonus episode

The final guest of season 8 will be Jess Kimura, I'm just putting the finishing touches on it this week... In the meantime enjoy this recap that includes a little snippet from said future episode!!

I have had an incredible season this year, with 25 amazing guests. I added the YouTube video component, visited High Cascade summer camp and Blaise Boot camp, rode epic Tahoe powder with Dave Downing, The Hatchett brothers, and Corey Achtoong, designed and built a custom Wired board with Rob and Peppe, and of course, the great Cas Nahui. I also got to ride bluebird pow at Mt Baker with Anson, who was the very first shredder I met at The Boardroom way back in 1993.

Today, I am bringing you a special episode, a season recap with clips of all the season 8 guests. I always get a bit sad when the season comes to an end, and this year is no exception. I love doing the show and snowboarding all the time, chasing powder, hitting kickers, and spending time with some of my best friends in cars, on chairlifts, and on the snow.

As always, no one knows what will happen next season. Will it start early? Will there be tons of snow? Who knows? One thing is for sure, I will be back with Season 9 starting November 1st with some amazing guests. I truly want to thank all the listeners who reached out this year; you're the reason I do the show. I also thank all the sponsors from the bottom of my heart; they're the reason I can do the show. So enjoy this season recap. I'll miss you. I'm quitting my mailman job this summer, not sure what I'll be doing for work, hopefully a big part of it will be podcasting! I'm nervous and excited to follow that new path! Thank you for listening or watching the show. It means the world to me.

FNRad Mike Hatchett Interview - Season 8 Episode 24

Mike Hatchett is the guy behind standard films, the company that produced the totally bored series of snowboard movies. Tb2 through Tb10 were the soundtrack to my early adult life working at the Boardroom. Mike’s ability to combine progressive snowboarding with heavy metal music has never been replicated. Mike Hatchett put together the most epic crews of pro snowboarders and brought them to Alaska where they were able to push the boundaries of what’s possible in freestyle big mountain snowboarding. And as you’ll hear, mike, was taking soul laps with them the entire time. I can’t overstate how important Mike Hatchett is to snowboarding. I’m absolutely honoured to have him on the show!

FNRad Jim Rippey Interview - Season 8 Episode 23

Jim Rippey had the best selling pro model in the world for seven years during my favourite era, the early 90’s. As a top Burton pro he filmed with Standard and Mack Dawg and his parts were highly anticipated. He is a World Champion, a US Open Champion, a three time Vans Triple Crown Champion, an Innsbruck Air & Style Champion and has won countless other titles. He’s the first guy to backflip a snowmobile on film. As his career was winding down, he became a chaplain at the X games. Jim Rippey is one of those pro snowboarders that fell off the map and left everyone wondering where did he wind up!? So In this conversation we catch up with Jim and go deep into his snowboarding roots.

FNRad Jason Ford Interview - Season 8 Episode 21

FNRad Jason Ford Interview - Season 8 Episode 21

Jason Ford was on the Burton Pro Team aside Brushie, Craig, Jacoby, Alex Warburton, Jimi Scott... you get the picture. And he was one of the competitors who really gave Craig a lot of pressure on the World Champion Title side of things. Just as Burton was negotiating a Jason Ford Pro Model, Jason, Tim Pogue, and a handful of industry rebels created Ride Snowboards. Jason and Ride made history and world wide news when Ride went public. In his third act as a pro snowboarder Jason helped Salomon develop a snowboard program. This conversation covers all this and more. Stoked to bring it to you!

FNRad Bud Fawcett Interview - Season 8 Episode 17

FNRad Bud Fawcett Interview - Season 8 Episode 17

Bud Fawcett was among a handful of snowboard photographers whose images in early magazines made you look to see who took them. He shot with guys like Terry Kidwell, Shaun Palmer, Andy Hetzel, Tina and Mike Basich, Ranquet, and Craig. If you've seen his photos you know what I'm talking about when I say there's something very special about a Bud Fawcett image. His story begins with a road trip and we were on a road trip when we stayed with him at his home 40 years later... This is one of those life experiences I could not have imagine 8 years ago when FNRad started. I'm honoured and feel very proud to bring you this episode with Bud.
