The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

Today's show is about one of the great poems in English history.

If you have ever heard of 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, or if you've ever wondered what the story is about and if you have 80 minutes to spare, settle back with some opium, or whatever you can get your hands on and grab a copy of the poem in a book, or on-line. (I have also put it up on markclark.com.au under 'Lyrics to Podcasts'.)

I broke the poem into 19 original songs (it is 144 stanzas long) with a few repeat melodies. After each song I explain what is happening in the poem.

Special thanks to Jessica Zamprogno for all female voices and back up vocals. All instrumentation and male vocals by me.

All of my albums are available on the usual platforms and my website is: markclark.com.au

Allow those with great fears to live and let live... Albatross! Albatross!

Allow those with great fears to live and let live... Albatross! Albatross!

This is a meek turn of the cheek for those that truly have great and abiding fear of sailing in the ocean... I even pour salt on the wound by bringing up the Rime of the Ancient Mariner and the Legend of the Flying Dutchman!!

Hamlet in Exile Podcast Episode 2 Halloween Special Ulf Kirchdorfer reads Coleridge's "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner"

In this episode of the Hamlet in Exile Podcast, Ulf Kirchdorfer reads Samuel Taylor Coleridge's "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner," a perfect poem to spook and entertain the mind for Halloween. Hamlet, the time traveler, in Ulf Kirchdorfer's Hamlet in Exile  poetry book featured in Episode One, whose life and mind are spooky enough to warrant a Halloween celebration, would surely enjoy the diversion of Coleridge's timeless "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner."
