    ‘Barbie’ becomes Warner Bros’ highest-grossing film of all time
    The biggest blockbuster of the summer, Barbie, has already passed several box-office milestones and has grossed over a whopping $1.3 billion worldwide as yet. It had already surpassed some of the biggest Warner Bros hits such as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Aquaman, Joker, and The Dark Knight Rises last week. According to the latest figures, the Greta Gerwig film, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has already surpassed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II and has become the highest-grossing film by Warner Bros. of all time. While the film is expected to face some competition from Gran Turismo, Barbie is expected to continue its impressive theatrical run. Well, it’s surely the time to party for Greta Gerwig and the team.

    Downton Abbey: A New Era shows Carson struggling with French

    With just a week away from the release of the much-awaited film, Downton Abbey: A New Era, an exclusive clip from the movie has surfaced wherein the beloved butler Charles Carson is seen struggling with his French as he tries to buy a new hat. Fortunately, Lady Maud Bagshaw comes to his rescue before things get too complicated. Real-life couple Jim Carter and Imelda Staunton play Carson and Bagshaw, respectively in the film. Directed by Simon Curtis, the film is a sequel to the 2019 movie Downton Abbey and features Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, and Phyllis Logan in prominent roles. The film will hit theatres on May 20.

    Nope is very different from Peele’s earlier films: Keke Palmer

    Emmy winner Keke Palmer who reunites with Jordan Peele for his third project Nope said that the filmmaker cast her in the film over a FaceTime call. She also stated that Nope is nothing like Peele’s earlier films. Apart from Palmer, who plays the lead in Peele’s Oscar-winning film Get Out, the movie features Daniel Kaluuya and Steven Yeun. The film is expected to be released on July 22.

    Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigossi join The Boys spin-off

    The Staircase actor Patrick Schwarzenegger, The Tragedy of Macbeth star Sean Patrick Thomas, and Invisible City actor Marco Pigossi have joined the cast of the upcoming spin-off of The Boys. The untitled series also stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizzie Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Shelley Conn. 

    Law & Order: Organized Crime renewed for the third season

    The crime drama series Law & Order: Organized Crime has been renewed for a third season. A spin-off of  Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, the series features Christopher Meloni, Danielle Moné Truitt, Tamara Taylor, Ainsley Seiger, Dylan McDermott, and Nona Parker-Johnson. Meloni reprises his role as Elliot Stabler from Special Victims Unit. 

    Production of Loki Season 2 to commence soon

    The production of the second season of Loki will commence on June 6. Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki, the God of Mischief. Directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, the season will also feature Owen Wilson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The first season of the show had received plaudits for Hiddleston’s performance and visuals.

    Kat Coiro to direct two episodes of The Spiderwick Chronicles

    Kat Coiro, who most recently helmed the romantic comedy Marry Me, will direct the first two episodes of  Disney+ ’s The Spiderwick Chronicles. The series is based on the children’s book series written by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. Coiro has previously worked on shows such as Modern Family, Shameless, and Dead To Me.

    Upload renewed for a new season

    Amazon Prime Video series Upload has been renewed for a third season. Created by Greg Daniels, the series centers on Nathan Brown, a computer programmer who gets uploaded into a virtual world following his untimely death. The series stars Robbie Amell, Andy Allo, Allegra Edwards, Zainab Johnson, and Kevin Bigley.
