#6 Night Sky and Nature - with Patrick Lüth and Saurabh Pandhi (English)
This episode of Light Talks explores the impact artificial light has on nature and how outdoor lighting can be used responsibly. Expertise is contributed by Patrick Lüth, Architect and Managing Director of Snøhetta, a Norwegian architecture and design firm. Virtually joining from the United Kingdom is Saurabh Pandhi, Vice President at Thorn Lighting, which is part of the Zumtobel Group and has nearly 100 years experience in supplying efficient, high quality and connected lighting solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications. Right from the start, the experts emphasize the importance of dialogue between architecture and natural landscapes and surroundings. Lüth provides his insights into minimizing the impact of light and the impact new architectural creations have on nature. The effects light pollution has on nature and its wildlife must not be ignored but always taken in account when it comes to installing new light installations. By recognizing the impacts of light pollution and embracing sustainable lighting solutions, we can strike a balance between human lighting needs and the preservation of the night sky and nature. Later on, Pandhi shares his experience and expertise when it comes to outdoor lighting and the impact of artificial light. By adopting responsible lighting practices, we can protect the night sky and minimize the impact on the environment. To further advance these efforts, collaboration among stakeholders is essential. For the two experts there needs to be more awareness regarding the protection of night skies and reducing light spill. After all, we need to pave the way for a future where our nights are illuminated responsibly.

A Blessed Thorn: April 28, 2023
Though Paul was able to declare, “I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (Philippians 3:8), Paul also had a thorn—a burdensome pain from which he prayed to God for relief three times (see 2 Corinthians 12:7-9). Today’s devotional explores what we can learn from Paul’s thorn.
If you would like more insight into today’s devotional topic, listen to Dr. Michael Youssef’s sermon The Secrets of Positive Living, Part 14: LISTEN NOW
What Was the Thorn in Paul's Flesh?
The Apostle Paul famously declared that God had given him a “thorn in the flesh” that plagued him his entire life. Theories abound as to what exactly that “thorn” was. Listen to this short episode to hear some of the most common theories about Paul's thorn and why God would plague him with something so difficult.

Seductions and Revolutions
I love writing poetry is the first art form that I felt I was decently good at now not all of my poems are about thongs, love, sex, and trips with your passport to destinations that no one even knows exists. But if you enjoy poetry and want something to listen to help uplift your Sunday mood I got you because this is seduction and revolutions.

Ep. 337: It's Your Fault I'm Upset! Plus, Love Poems with John Kenney
Biz and Theresa talk about a thing that keeps happening where our six-year-olds are going along, having The Best Day Ever, and then suddenly something switches and they decide their day is ruined and it is all Mama's fault. Sure, our kids' emotional regulation skills are in the process of emerging, but that doesn't change the fact that it really sucks to get yelled at! Especially after we just spent hours facilitating play dates and/or engaging in quality time activities with our kids. Plus, Biz chooses Curtain Number Three, Theresa loves antibiotics, and we talk to John Kenney about love poems for people with children.

Ep. 50: Jesse Thorn & Kelly Hu
It’s the 50th episode of Go Fact Yourself! And we’ve got a t-shirt!
To help us celebrate, we’ve brought on Maximum Fun founder, Jesse Thorn. These days, MaxFun is known for dozens of quality podcasts. But in Jesse’s early days, he recorded the talk show that would become "Bullseye" in his apartment. The humble beginnings helped him learn a lot about interviewing great guests… and about the value of a good suit. In addition to “Bullseye,” you can hear Jesse on the podcasts "Jordan Jesse Go!" and "Judge John Hodgman."
Jesse’s opponent for this momentous episode is actor Kelly Hu. She’s best known for appearances in tons of hit movies, including her role as Lady Deathstrike in X2: X-Men United. But even though audiences love her work, she’ll explain why she can’t stand to watch herself in any film or show she’s ever been a part of. Plus: a look into her desire to be a pageant winner without having a talent to showcase.
Our guests will answer questions about baseball, cadavers and what can be mixed into chocolate.
