    32. Why are the forests on Africa’s mountains so important for our future?

Another English edition: A study recently published in Nature Magazine found that African tropical montane forests store more carbon than previously thought. How did they figure this out? Why is it important? And why is it so bad that these forests are under serious threats from deforestation?

We talk to Aida Cuni-Sanchez associate professor at Environment and Development Studies, Noragric here at NMBU

The episode was taped June 8th – 2021.

    34. The Craft

    34. The Craft

Nikki and Sher talk witchcraft and religion, avoiding Australia, and reminisce over bear attacks. There are a few minor kid interruptions (mom life).

Also, we're in Georgia, so there's a little background noise from the air conditioner. It's hot, y'all. Enjoy!

    Part 2 of 2: Looking into the Shadow...A Hero's Journey, feat. Claire Diaz-Ortiz (Enneagram 3) [S02-003]

When you truly begin doing your work, the Enneagram really should mess with you. It should dis-equilibrate you, throw you back on your heals, make you wonder, "Who am I? Who is everybody else? What am I supposed to do now?

This week we're back with part 2 of Claire Diaz-Ortiz's interview revealing how her research into Enneagram Threes has helped her dig beneath the surface and shift her focus towards using the gifts she's developed to lift up others from behind the scenes.

Claire Diaz-Ortiz is an author, speaker and Silicon Valley innovator who was an early employee at Twitter. Named one of the 100 Most Creative People in Business by Fast Company, she holds an MBA and other degrees from Stanford and Oxford and has been featured widely in print and broadcast media. She writes a popular business blog at ClaireDiazOrtiz.com and is the award-winning author of eight books that have been published in more than a dozen countries.

Nate O'Neil: Playing For the Washington Generals

Paul talks with childhood hoops buddy, Nate O'Neil on this episode of the Alley Oop Podcast.  After a successful college career at Colgate University, Nate went on to play professional basketball for the Washington Generals (I.E. the team that loses to the Harlem Globetrotters) They talk about how he ended up there, and also about how close Paul was to becoming a Washington General at one point.

Nate talks about traveling the world, tells some great stories about playing against legendary players like Daryl Dawkins in arenas like Madison Square Garden.

Don't let this losing record fool you, Nate is still Colgate's all-time leading 3 point shooter (%) and is in the top five all time in the Patriot League athletic conference. He still dunked on his birthday this year.

Nate and Paul also reminisce growing up playing hoops in the Binghamton area and the notable players and playground games.

Former Penthouse Exec Turned Podcaster, Steve Belanger Mounts One Man Show.

I met Steve Belanger when I was a guest on his podcast, The Gamut with Steve Belanger on the Sideshow Network. A raconteur and funny guy, we've become friends. So when he asked me about making a short film on life's odd journey, I said "dont."

It's rare I discourage people from filmmaking, but I knew Steve was mostly a funny performer at heart. What good would mounting a short film do for a busy guy like Steve?

"It's About Time" opens in New York in April and you won't want to miss it. Click the title for tickets. Steve wrote and will perform and it's directed by Broadway veteran and "Three's Company" star Richard Kline.

We talk about collaboration, being control freaks and balance of the two.

Thank you for listening. Please share with a pal.

    First-Person Podcast Simulator: Episode 28
SALUTATIONS DEAR LISTENERS! This week we spend a fair amount of time talking about the two indie titles Towerfall, and Threes (which we both highly recommend. Mike also talks about his experience with Mass Effect 2 thus far (mild spoilers). In the news, a really rad thing called the Super Game Jam is happening, Myo is going to bring us even further into Oculus Rift experiences, Among The Sleep gets a new trailer, and it was Mike's birthday the day we recorded! (Wooooo) Later on, we answer some pretty tough questions in regards to difficulty in video games (and how we think it's properly done), and controls in multiplayer games. Also, if you want to check out the awesome sites that we plug within the first few minutes of the show, click these links: http://dailygeekette.wordpress.com/ https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/figures-sold-separately/id588373668?mt=2 Additionally!
