how to (actually) be productive & get stuff done

how to (actually) be productive & get stuff done

In honour of the new ORGANISEHER™ productivity planner, this episode is all about how to actually  get stuff done - not just tell people you're getting stuff done or planning to get stuff done, actually doing it. We've talked about timeblocking, reflecting, setting up your day with 3 big priorities, categorising your to-do list based on the amount of time it will take to complete a task & those are all things that you will be able to do with your productivity planner. But today, we're discussing the three things you need to get yourself into the right headspace to be productive - because you can have all the right tools in the world (our planner included) but if your head isn't in it, you won't be productive & those tools will be sitting somewhere collecting dust.

to celebrate the launch of our new productivity planner & as a token of my appreciation to you for all your support, we are offering free shipping NZ-wide on orders placed during our launch week (15 Nov - 21 Nov 2023) if you use the code "YAY".  available at the organiseher website: https://organiseher.co/ from 15 Nov 2023, NZT.

Take a Delicious Bite of Time

Take a Delicious Bite of Time
Pause and Breathe We all have twenty-four hour days. You have many items on your to be and to do lists. It can seem that the minutes available in the day are not enough to get everything done. You want to be balanced in your daily schedule. but it can seem like an impossible dream. Is it realistic to think that you can accomplish everything on your list within the limits of the clock? Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. One way to get things done is the same way that you would eat a chocolate elephant, one bite at a time. Start by prioritizing your list, or decide what part of the elephant you want to eat first. Pause in whatever you are doing and join us as Leona Rehm provides powerful insights into effective chocolate elephant nibbling, that is, using your time, to find balance. You will be able to work without feeling constantly overwhelmed and will have a usable plan.

Ep #41: Life Hack: Prioritize Your To-Do List With GEMS

If you struggle with getting things done (and who doesn't?!) in this episode you'll learn a system you can use daily that will help move you forward. GEMS is an acronym that helps you create baby-steps in the most important areas of your life, including self-care.  If your to-do list is as big as your arm,  this system will help you focus your day so you can start actually accomplishing and stop feeling so overwhelmed and behind.

    Stephanie Krivitzky

    Stephanie Krivitzky
Stephanie Krivitzky, currently in New York City, talks to Skipper about how she gets things done, starting with family discussions around the dinner table and then into her current role as creative director at Misen, a cookware company. The conversation hits so many points, starting with her frustration with baths, how the notion of logistics eventually fed into the concept of getting things done, how hustling and freelancing built her discipline, using your own motivations and demotiavtions as an aligning principle, how getting things done for other people is different than when you're working for yourself, thinking about the Eisenhower Matrix graph with its four quadrants of high/low impact and high/low effort to prioritize your work, what happens when you never do a thing you're supposed to (read: like Skipper's example of not being very good at flossing at night), to-do lists as part of the process of reflecting back on how something went, and how she thinks of her own to-do lists as little diaries. It's called Analog (https://ugmonk.com/pages/analog). After the outro music, you can hear Stephanie talk about her friend of 14 years already wanting to listen to this episode. 😃🎉 This episode was edited and mastered by Troy Lococo.
