    Episode 57: Bandon Dunes Trip

    Episode 57: Bandon Dunes Trip

On this week's MEGA pod, Todd and Brian break down their recent trip to the mecca of public golf in the United States ... Bandon Dunes.

The guys break down their 7.5 rounds in 4 days, hear Todd's thoughts on his first time at Bandon, why the boys weren't so sold on Pacific Dunes, and their epically terrible, miserable day out on Old Macdonald.

Although despite the rain and some travel issues, both agreed this was some of the most fun they had on a golf course. If you've ever contemplated heading out to Bandon Dunes or want to know why we would subject ourselves to the torture of the weather out there ... give it a listen.

Episode 5: St Patrick's Links at Rosapenna Golf Resort with Frank, Clyde & Ally

Episode 5: St Patrick's Links at Rosapenna Golf Resort with Frank, Clyde & Ally
In this episode we are joined by Rosapenna Golf Resort's Director of Golf Frank Casey Junior, Clyde Johnson from Cunnin Golf Design and Ally McIntosh our regular architecture contributor. Frank Casey has been steeped in Irish golf ever since his mother and father bought the Rosapenna Golf Resort in the early 1980's. An accomplished golfer in his own right, Frank has led the Golf Operations team at Rosapenna since 2005. He has travelled far and wide and brought many of those experiences back to Downings to the benefit of visiting golfers and members alike. Clyde Johnson is a course designer, shaper and finisher extraordinaire. Clyde first saw the St. Patrick's site back in 2009 as he looked longingly over the fence from the Old Tom Morris course. Mr Johnson was intimately involved in the development of the St Patrick's project from the initial mow out of fairways in 2018 right through to desiging, building and photographing the site. We are tremendously excited to present the St Patrick's Links story for your enjoyment! 7. Brian Zager - Mapping The Lido

    7. Brian Zager - Mapping The Lido

How does a small-town Wisconsin kid who has re-created golf courses on computers go on to play an integral role in a major golf course development just down the road? How does a computer-game version of a lost golf course end up being carved out of the sand in Central Wisconsin? Brian Zager, digital golf course mapping specialist, shares the answers and details his unique journey in golf. Brian talks about his passion for golf and computers from a young age, his online golf hobby, and turning that into a money-making side business. Then, he discusses how Sand Valley, a golf resort 20 minutes from his hometown, changed everything. Brian dives into his most recent and largest undertaking at The Lido. From mapping the original model to implementing the plan in the field in an effort to re-create The Lido, it's hard to imagine someone with a more ideal background for this unique job.
