    - Leroy Irvin

Get ready for a fun and energetic podcast with 98.5 personalities, Leroy Irvin and Cerrone Battle, typically heard on Saturdays from 2:00-5:00pm.

We cover a lot of ground with this week's guests including Leroy's article from 2018 that proved to be foreshadowing for the sports climate of today. Also:

Is Jerod Mayo the person to right the ship? Why hasn't Belichick garnered much interest? What teams does Cerrone think Bill would flourish with? If Leroy and Cerrone were the Patriots GMs how would they build the team? What is the key for the front office moving forward? Does Leroy really advocate for retaining Trent Brown? Hear the interesting thoughts behind "underestimating the cultural shift" with Mayo.

Scott and Dave give out their first nickname to a guest. And it is well deserved. Who did Leroy pick to be in this year's Super Bowl before the season began and what did he say to consider about Bill Belichick... 2 years ago?

We think you'll enjoy this extended episode!

Marc Edwards, Super Bowl XXXVI Champion

Marc Edwards, Super Bowl XXXVI Champion

On this week’s episode we are pleased to have 9-year NFL vet and Super Bowl XXXVI Champion, Marc Edwards

Prior to the NFL, Marc was a standout for the Fighting Irish. He tells us the story of being carried off the field by his teammates in South Bend.

Marc was drafted out of the University of Notre Dame by the 49ers in the 2nd round. There, he played with some football greats including Steve Young and Jerry Rice.

He came to New England at the birth of the Dynasty and the emergence of Tom Brady. Marc talks about Tom in his first year as a starter and when he thought TB12 might be special. He goes into detail about the 2001 team and beautifully illustrates the “Snow Bowl” game and the big game in New Orleans.

It’s a wonderful conversion that includes the book written about his younger days to what he is doing now.

Ep. 105: Single & Dating Like Cats

Ep. 105: Single & Dating Like Cats

On this episode we are going to discuss some alarming facts from the January 2023 Singles in America Survey about singles of all ages, especially Gen Z. Here are a few:

    · 117.6 million Americans or 46% of those aged 18 and over are single according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

    · A quarter of Americans, including 35% of Gen Z and 30% of Boomers, say “I am not looking for a relationship”

    · Eight in 10 Americans believe that finding the right partner is harder than finding the right job

    · Six in 10 singles say that “dating is becoming an unaffordable luxury”

While we don’t need a relationship to feel complete, human beings aren’t meant to be alone.

Joining me to discuss this major shift in perspective is Sebas Penaranda, host of the podcast The Sebas Perspective. Tune in to hear what I say about a sex robot that looks like Tom Brady!

This is a great conversation that you cannot miss.

Corey speaks with us about his beginnings in the NFL with the Bengals. And discusses how he stayed focused on sub .500 teams. He talks about the day he put the Bengals on his back, running for 278 yards against the Broncos. Hear why this momentous day was bittersweet for him.

He remembers his New England teammates, gives his thoughts on a number of them including his feelings on Junior Seau. Also, learn what TB12’s nickname for Corey was and where it came from.

Corey has an impressive resume but has yet to be added to the Bengals Ring of Honor, given a gold jacket, or be immortalized in Foxboro. He gives us his pitch for the Patriots Hall of Fame. Let’s get a groundswell for him to don the red jacket.

Untold Patriots Stories welcomes 98.5 FM The Sports Hub's Matt McCarthy. Matt addresses questions regarding the Patriots 2023 season and beyond.

We dive into the topic at hand, Bill Belichick. What are the issues and how much responsibility is his? Is Bill's reign as Head Coach salvageable? If there is a coaching change, who does Matt believe will be the successor? Does New England need a young, offensive-minded coach? What would the first post-Belichick press conference be like for the media?

More topics include: how does Bill the GM compared with Chaim Bloom, who's in better shape for the 2024 season - the Patriots or the Red Sox, and if he were the owner, how would Matt attempt to right the ship in Foxboro?

You'll enjoy Matt's insights on these and other points including his favorite Patriots memory.

Joe Andruzzi, Ed Block Courage Award winner, Part 2/2

Joe Andruzzi, Ed Block Courage Award winner, Part 2/2

Part 2 of our conversation with Joe Andruzzi is no less powerful than the first.

We begin with a fun story involving some Patriot pranksters and a rookie Tom Brady. We reminisce about the 'Mustache Men', talk about the lead jokester, Matt Light, and hear behind-the-scenes at TB12's early press conferences by his locker.

The tone then changes as we discuss Joe's battle with cancer and his being at the finish line during the Boston Marathon bombings. Joe is very open with us and gives a moving and inspiring account of each.

Joe's experiences led he and his wife, Jen, to start the Joe Andruzzi Foundation in 2008. JAF provides financial assistance to patients and families residing in New England, helping them focus on recovery - not bills. Please considering supporting Joe, Jen, and their team. More information can be found at www.JoeAndruzziFoundation.org.

Joe Andruzzi, Three Time Super Bowl Champion, Part 1/2

Joe Andruzzi, Three Time Super Bowl Champion, Part 1/2

On this timely episode, coming the day after Tom Brady Day at Gillette Stadium and on 9/11, we speak with someone familiar with both topics, Joe Andruzzi.

We talk to Joe about college and getting to the NFL and how the team had fun with a skinny, 4th string rookie QB in 2000.  Joe then gives us a detailed account of he and his family's thoughts and feelings on 9/11. (Joe has 3 three brothers who were FDNY including one who ran into Tower One.) Mr. Kraft had the foresight to make his brothers captains for the first game back after the September 11th attacks, 9/23/01 vs The Jets.

As Pats fans know, September 23rd is also a milestone day in the history of the Patriots. Joe talks about this and explains the team's process moving from Drew Bledsoe behind center to Tom Brady and their drive to Super Bowl XXXVI.

We also have some fun conversing about Super Bowl 38 and compare the two Patriots starting quarterbacks Joe protected in New England with the gunslinger he paved the way for prior in Green Bay, Brett Farve.

Take a listen to this emotional yet entertaining episode.
