From Glitzy Goodbyes to Tarot Cards Unveiling the Secrets of Stardom

Dive into the unexpected as we unpack the surprising split by Jessi from Jay Park's More Vision. Why would Jessi call it quits after such a close bond and a mere nine months? We're peeling back the layers on creative differences and industry shockwaves, plus discussing the potential impact on Jessi's future, including the We Bridge Expo. But the conversation doesn't dwell on goodbyes for long; we're also sharing the lighter side of life with Sakuma Daisuke's Twitter escapades and celebrating BTS's triumphs, even as they serve their military time.

Strap in for a rollercoaster of celebrity antics and heartfelt musings. From Twitter notifications that buzz more than a beehive, to Yamada’s car adventures with his Senpai. We scoop on celebrity interactions, like Fuma's apparent infatuation with good looks, and the buzz about Kanjani∞'s impending name change (as of this release they are- now Super Eight). And don't worry, we haven't forgotten to talk about Tomo's magnetic stage presence that's capturing hearts everywhere.

Join us as we stroll down a more thoughtful path, considering the personal battles and beliefs of BTS's RM as he navigates military service. Our chat takes a mystical twist with tarot readings, dream interpretations, and the enigmatic power of symbols – like those two ravens that might just change the way you see your world. Curious about the six of swords or what it means when cockroaches invade your dreams? Tune in, and we'll explore these cosmic questions together, with plenty of laughs along the way.

(An additional topic we covered - who dominated the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championship 2024?!)

Former Zillow Sales Executive Greg Schwartz Thinks it is Time for Disruption in the Mortgage Industry

As CEO and co-founder of Tomo, Greg Schwartz leads the company in its mission to transform the home buying experience. Tomo was founded in the fall of 2020 and raised a $70 million seed round, reportedly the largest in U.S. history. The company’s initial product, Tomo Mortgage, launched in June of 2021 to streamline the mortgage process by bringing e-commerce to the paperwork heavy part of home transactions. Previously, Greg was the lead business executive of Zillow Group for 13 years. Before Zillow, Greg was vice president of advertising sales at CNNMoney, where he launched the advertising sales team and platform. He also served as national accounts director for Yahoo's automotive and finance properties and held multiple senior roles at DoubleClick.  (Disclosure: dot.LA co-founder Spencer Rascoff is an investor in Tomo.)

Bill first saw DJ Alessandrini when he was doing some friendly YouTube stalking of the GLTC series and has been following him ever since.  DJ has also started a podcast (Lizard Brains Podcast) of his own with co-host Tom O’Gorman and it has become one of our can’t miss podcasts.  We end up talking all things Sundae Cup, podcasting, driving and especially how best to learn and use SIM racing during the off season to improve our driving in the real world.  DJ is a great guy and we can’t wait to see him again, hopefully at a track.

    Highlights for this episode include:

    1)  DJ’s driving and racing history and how he got a race car for free.

    2)  How video games and SIM racing have fed his competitive side when he was growing up (and still) and how autocross gave him another outlet to compete and the thrill of driving in real life.  A lifelong passion was born.

    3)  How he was able to be globally competitive in sim racing seemingly overnight.  PS it wasn’t overnight, at all.

    4)  How transitioning between sim racing and real-world racing can compliment each other and ways that sometimes hamper people from getting the most out of the cross training.

    5)  Vicki cannot wait to start talking about Sim racing and we end the intro section prematurely and dive right into some of our problems with sim racing in general and some great suggestions to help us with the transition, both using monitors and virtual reality headsets.

    6)  How best to make the transition into sim racing, especially if you are already an experienced race driver.  This includes the best ways to practice and learn, as well as the minimum equipment needed and setting.

    7)  Several great tips on getting acclimated to using a VR headset from DJ and one horrible method that did not work from us.

    8)  Bill mentions his issues with the Global MX5 cup car on iRacing and DJ has thoughts on what may be some of the issues he has been having.

    9)  What options there are to personalize the livery on your car in iRacing and other sim racing programs.

    10)  Shopping tips, priorities, and resources for all the various components needed for a good sim racing experience, including the sweet spot for the best performance bang for the buck items you need or can upgrade to if you have already started.

    11)  Tips for prepping for your first race in the spring after a long off season.

    12)  Some of the key settings and issues that can help with the transition into sim racing

    13)  We also cover the benefit of using a coach to help with the racing and how that applies in sim racing as well.

    14)  We also go into the Lizard Brains podcast he hosts with former guest Tom O'Gorman

    15)  How he differentiates between instructing and coaching and how sim racing offers several advantages that are almost impossible to replicate racing in the real world.

GHIT 0230: Tom O'Gorman AKA TomO from TOMO Racing and ASM

GHIT 0230: Tom O'Gorman AKA TomO from TOMO Racing and ASM

Tom O’Gorman is currently racing the Grid Life GLTC series with ASM and has competed and won at some of the highest levels as a professional driver for several teams.  He is also a sought after racing coach for drivers at all levels.   We talk with him about his entire career, remaining goals, as well as his driver coaching.  Far be it from us to not ask him about a few coaching questions.

You can subscribe to our podcast on the podcast provider of your choice, including the Apple podcast app, Google music, Amazon, and YouTube etc. Also, if you could give our podcast a (5-star?) rating or even better, a podcast review, we would greatly appreciate it and it would help us to grow the passion and sport of high performance driving.

For instance, leaving an Apple Podcast rating is very easy.  If you go to your podcast library, under shows and click on the podcast you can leave a (5?) star rating and enter your review.

Hosts of the Garage Heroes In Training Podcast and Garage Heroes In Training racing team drivers

    Highlights from this episode include:

    1)  How he has grown as a driver by being able to experience a wide variety of cars quickly from a very young age when he was autocrossing.  This cross training has led to his ability to adapt to cars very quickly and race in all style cars as needed.

    2)  We take a moment to ask Tom which car he hasn't driven in (yet) that he would like to drive a race in at least once.  We think Adam may have to have a driver shuffle event to complement his field invert race, lol.

    3)  It is amazing how early and deeply auto racing “drove” within Tom when he discovered some of the early console driving games.

    4)  We firmly believe that if Tom wins both autocross events in the NSX, he should be allowed to keep the NSX.  This could be another example of why we have no sponsors, lol.

    5)  Tom even shared a great example of how even for a driver at his level that some weekends just don’t go as well as we would wish and how Covid has impacted his racing.  We also go into his GLTC series racing history and how the Grid Life series has grown and continues to grow.  It is like a spec series in the closeness of the racing without a single car design.

    6)  We poke Tom for some Mid Ohio rain tips.  He was nice enough to give a few of the things he has learned at his home track.  Vicki is insistent wet Mid Ohio is like lava.  Bill is starting to piece that together.

    7)  The potential of the use of a 200 tread wear tire in GLTC and the potential advantages and disadvantages of a potential switch.

    8)  Tom also discussed the Grid Life Sundae Cup series.

    9)  We also go into coaching drivers at all levels, the use of in car coaching, as well as video, data, and even coach driving demonstration to help every level driver improve.

    10)   Pushing limits and breaking though limits comes up again.  Hypothetically, lol.
