Episode 98: 10 Tons
From 1:1 scale whales to microfossils scaled up to the size of a house, there are few model-building projects that 10 Tons are afraid to take on. At the helm of this business is Esben Horn and in this episode, he joins us to discuss the process of model building, from concept to museum display.
We also talk about some of the exhibitions 10 Tons have led themselves, including the successful ‘Rock Fossils on Tour‘ which showcases some of the different fossils named in honour of rock/metal musicians.

Sixteen Tons - HLG June Corporate Retreat Game
High Level Games had our corporate retreat on June 3rd this year and as part of it we played some games! This episode is a recording that was taken from one of those games called "Sixteen Tons" which was ran by Matthew Barrett.
Sixteen Tons is a tabletop RPG about undead servants who rediscover their lost memories, and find themselves on the run from the forces that would turn them into mindless slaves again. In this first adventure, 'Tabula Rasa,' players learn about the world and create the initial set of characters through their actions.
As a side note, we all connected online to play this, and as such we have to deal with peoples internet connections and Matthew's was a bit slow on the upload. This means that the players sometimes had a hard time understanding him as the sound on our ends garbled up. Thankfully this recording was taken by Matthew which means that the recording of his voice is still good, but there are a few places in the game where there is a pause or break due to the sound not coming through well to the players. That said, it was an incredibly fun game to play and the cooperative character creation is very interesting with a larger group.

Tao of Sports Ep. 30 - "Night Train" Veeck (Group Sales Exec., Chicago White Sox)
If the name sounds familiar, it’s not your imagination. The Veeck moniker is almost a baseball legend thanks to the efforts of Night Train’s grandfather (Bill) and his father (Mike). But Night Train is no slouch himself, the man learned his crazy minor league marketing as part of The First Family of Fun, working for the family’s Charleston RiverDogs as their sales manager/promotions for 12 years, working everywhere from sales, promotions to the grounds crew and gameday operations. Now at the Chicago White Sox, a franchise that his grandfather once owned, Night Train is a group sales executive with a rising future. Night Train discusses his family history, the story behind his nickname, and what the fans really want when they go to a ball game. Twitter: VeeckAsInWreck
