    Allyson is a registered nurse. She received her bachelors from The University of Virginia in 2019 and is now pursuing her Master's and Doctorate to become a nurse practitioner. She started her career in nursing in mother-baby/labor and delivery for one year and quickly was redeployed to the special pathogen unit to take care of critically ill patients admitted with COVID. She has since been an Intensive care nurse for three years - totaling a nursing career of four years. She has received certifications in breastfeeding and critical care. She has been heard on local news, in local papers, and in community outreaches for families losing a loved one due to COVID. She also has her own youtube channel to vlog through her journey and an Instagram account where she showcases her coffee and baking creations.

    Meet Olivia and Colton Hale:

    Olivia and Colton Hake had it all in their early 20's. Married, with great jobs, a home, and family close by. This gave pause to Olivia, thinking, "Did I peak too soon? Is this all there is?" Craving more experiences from life, Olivia came up with the idea of switching careers to travel nurse, and her husband Colton was completing onboard. Today they are a full-time RV couple traveling the country, documenting their journey travel journey while Olivia takes different travel nurse assignments and Colton runs operations of their epic nomad life. Their mission is to inspire others to take the leap and live THEIR best life right now.

As someone who has used a wheelchair full-time since the age of twelve, she understands what it’s like to constantly come up against barriers because life is built for the non-disabled. She challenges this narrative daily as “The Seated Nurse” – the first and only registered nurse in a wheelchair in all of New York State. Andrea’s advocacy has won her national recognition over the years, including being named “New Mobility’s Person of the Year” in 2021. While working bedside, Katie often served as a preceptor, where her passion for mentorship developed. She also worked as a clinical instructor for a period of time. Katie loves to spend time outdoors and explore new restaurants with friends and family.

    About Karen Furr MS, RN

    Karen is a Registered Nurse with a master’s degree in nursing education. She has over 15 years of experience as a nurse, which includes work in vascular access, pediatric, neonatal, and technology-dependent intensive care units, pediatric cardiac cath lab, and utilization and prior authorization review. 

    Karen has taught in the clinical practicum and classroom settings in both LPN and BSN programs and serves as a nurse resilience coach and consultant. Karen is committed to making a significant impact in the nursing profession. She founded The Resilient Nurse Project 2020 in order to fulfill her mission of helping nurses recognize, address, and overcome burnout and compassion fatigue. As Founder and CEO of The Resilient Nurse Project, Karen’s desire is to make a significant sustainable impact on the nursing profession.
