Genesis: Does Everything Happen for a Reason?
This is a message by Dr. Paul Jones from our series, Genesis.
We hope and pray it’s been a blessing to you.
Join us for the conclusion of our Genesis series as we explore the patriarchal families of Abraham. Discover how God's promise is fulfilled despite man's brokenness, and witness how hints of a remarkable saviour begin to emerge. Despite the overwhelming brokenness in Genesis, God never gives up on his promise to Abraham. Learn how the seed of Abraham will deliver humanity from the curse of Genesis 3. Don't miss out on this insightful and inspiring conclusion to our Genesis series.
Yet again, we see that even though we are the great promise breakers - he is the great promise keeper.

Guest Bio: Todd Cochran is an American pianist, composer, keyboardist, essayist and conceptual artist. Early in his career he was also professionally known as Bayeté. Cochran started his career as a teenager with saxophonist John Handy. Two years later he joined vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson’s Quartet, and made his jazz recording debut composing and performing on a benchmark album for Hutcherson, "Head On" (on Blue Note Records) that featured a nineteen-piece ensemble. The recording was critically hailed as cross-pollinating the evolving contemporary modal jazz, avant-garde sound of the 1970s. Cochran’s first solo project "Worlds Around the Sun" became a #1 jazz album and marked his entree into the jazz discussion. From the mid 1970s forward Todd has experimented with and incorporated synthesizers, electronic and mixed-media concepts in his creative projects while collaborating with a wide range of artists in the genres of jazz, art rock, pop, R&B, and twenty-first-century classical. Cochran's best-known jazz compositions include "At The Source" (Bobby Hutcherson), "Free Angela" (Bayeté Todd Cochran, Santana), "Eternal Worlds" Julian Priester, "My Pearl", "Geni-Geni" (Automatic Man), "Monte Carlo Nights" Grover Washington Jr., "Spanish Rose", "Back To Lovin' Again" (Freddie Hubbard), and "Secret Places" (Todd Cochran). He released two albums on Prestige Records in 1972 and 1973. He was keyboardist and lead singer of Automatic Man from 1976 - 1978. He was also a member of Fuse One, a coalition of jazz musicians who released two albums on CTI Records in 1980 and 1981.

Henry VIII: King, Composer, & Bastion Of The Arts
Description
Henry VIII, King of England (1491-1547) excelled at languages, literature, theology, sport and, famously, music. Take a minute to get the scoop!
Fun Fact
In 1515, May Day was celebrated at Greenwich with all kinds of music, including, according to this description, a mix of natural and ‘made’ music: ‘In the wood were bowers filled purposely with singing birds which carolled most sweetly, and in one of these bastions or bowers were some triumphal cars, on which were singers and musicians, who played on organ, lute and flutes for a good while, during a banquet which was served in this place.’

Annette studied BMus at Manchester University and Masters at Trinity College of Music. Whilst living in London she worked with various UK orchestras and gained a place on the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment’s experience scheme on the natural horn. In 2013 She moved to Zürich to study at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. During her studies she played with the Zürich Opera Orchestra and was the horn Academist of Bern Sinfonieorchester for the 2014-2015 season.
In 2016 Annette played for 3 Months as principal horn of the Bulgarian State Opera, Stara Zagora before returning to Zürich where she currently works as a freelance horn and alphorn player, manages The Alpine Sisters and is studying a Master of Advanced Studies in clinical music therapy."

St Hilda's Oxford vs Trinity College Cambridge: Wallace and Gromit, but make it Gothic
After a few intense games that have had us on the edges of our seats, it was quite the change to see such a dominant display from the Trinity team. No doubt this is the team to watch alongside the Edinburgh lot. Also, we would pay an ungodly sum of money to see a Tim Burton directed Wallace and Gromit!

(BB) Ep16_Deciding on Life After Devastating Loss (Neisha Byrd)
It's one thing to talk about "soaring on eagle's wings" (Isaiah 40:31) but Neisha Byrd has mastered this mysterious verse. In the aftermath of back to back tragedy that rocked her family several years ago, Neisha has discovered the secret to trusting in the Lord and renewing herself in Him.
Neisha is also one of host Becky Hennesy's true BFFs and she's the feature guest on this inspiring episode. They walk through the tragic death of her college-age son Cameron while driving back from Oregon on a spring break trip in 2015. A few years later, Neisha lost her husband Wendell to cancer.
Yet instead of falling into unspeakable despair, something remarkable happened. She calls it Byrd Nation: a church family and community that rallied around her family in ways that mark what it means to be part of the Body of Christ. Becky and Neisha unpack all the ways she has experienced the love of God in action on her behalf.
Neisha has served in administration at Trinity Christian School (now part of the Texas Leadership Public Schools charter system) for nearly two decades and she is better known as Mama Byrd to her students.

Jan Wagner
This episode features Jan Wagner, a north German literary critic, poet and translator who returned to Ireland at different times of his life- for travelling, studying at Trinity College, working as an artist in residence at the Boell Cottage on Achill island, reciting poetry in the bogs of Connemara. In Germany, Jan brings us to some lesser travelled destinations by Irish people: the Baltic islands of Ruegen and Hiddensee and the countryside of Uckermark in Brandenburg where one can go hiking in the company of two donkeys, as long as you adapt your pace to that of the animals.
Jan’s passion for poetry extends to listening to poetry in other languages as well as translating the work of some artists that have written in English. Writing is a very curious back and forth that involves critical thinking along with free wheeling; a joyful game of playing with language and a slow process of editing. Cutting away line after line; a poem can be left with only three lines that carry much more than the thirty lines written ahead. Everything is possible, you can expose your soul or use poetry as a means of a great masquerade.
Jan recites the poem The owl, Part one by Matthew Sweany, one of the artists whose work Jan has translated, debating words and meaning over food and wine in Berlin Kreuzberg.
We hear Jan Wagner reciting also his own poetry: Teebeutel and Essay on soap.
Ireland: Glories, Stories -- And Joe Sings An Irish Ballad!
Irish singer/songwriter Joe Kearns is blessed with the gift of song and the gift of gab, and generously shares both with us. From his house near Dublin, he offers witty insights about the culture and pleasures of his beloved Ireland.
-- Find out how to choose the best pubs, and why Dublin’s Trinity College — home of the medieval illustrated Book of Kells -- has a barrel ceiling. We talk of Kilkenny, a remote monastery in the Skellig Islands, the Ring of Kerry, and the Irish beauty of castles, lakes, mountains, and even a coral beach.
-- Travel with Joe to the coolest music spot in Dingle, as we talk of the Celtic language and chat about colorful towns, a picnic atop the Cliffs of Moher, drinking honey Meade at a medieval banquet, and the pleasures of County Galway, the Wild Atlantic Way, and more.
-- Coddle and Barmbrack are probably not what you think (they're classic Irish foods), and I add a memory about Baileys on corn flakes.
-- Joe tells romantic travel stories set under Irish rainbows and "sideways rain."
-- And then, best of all — Joe, a fabulous singer, takes out his guitar and sings a beloved Irish ballad, even using his whistle!

Emily O'Callaghan: The Original Green Rebel
On this special Valentine’s Day episode, one host interviews the other. Emily O’Callaghan is the original green rebel. A scallywag, a hustler and an artist Emily has been searching for that which makes her heart skip since age 12.
The wonder and curiosity have seen her dabble in things as varied as photography, acting, cobbling, massage, standup comedy, startups, cinemas and security at gigs. She once even promoted butter in the pouring rain dressed in a Santa costume. And she is only just beginning.
What may seem like a meandering path is simply the natural way for Emily to follow her interests rather than just long after them. She isn’t afraid to give any of it a try even if that means failure. It’s the only way she knows to be.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Presented by Emily O'Callaghan and Irina Dzhambazova.
Produced by Irina Dzhambazova.
