Fifty Shades of Greys with Mr. Grey, Extraterrestrial Experiencer

Fifty Shades of Greys with Mr. Grey, Extraterrestrial Experiencer

Some call him Yan, some call him Mr. Grey. Some don't call him at all. It's much easier to sneak into his window at night, freeze time and space, bring him onto their craft and communicate telepathically than it is to leave a voicemail apparently....

Mr. Grey is an E.T. Experiencer, as well as host and producer of the YouTube channel "Experiencer Interviews."

He's been an Experiencer since the age of 3 years old and then things really ramped up after college. From visions to Angels, as well as unexplainably accurate psychic predictions (and remote viewing and communications with the afterlife and a slew of other anomalous phenomena.....geez, can't this guy just have a normal night out at Applebee's?!), Yan believes it is his mission to tell his story as well as share the stories of others to normalize these experiences in the public sphere.

    He joins Greg to discuss:

    (00:13) - Experiences With ETs

(15:06) - Exploring Psychic Experiences and ET Connections

(26:13) - The Complex Perspectives on the Greys

(38:07) - Shadow Beings and Paranormal Experiences

(53:47) - Abductions and Missing Fetuses

(57:35) - UFOs and Screen Images

(01:07:02) - Overcoming Fear and Changing UFO Beliefs

(01:14:36) - Debating the Benevolence of Extraterrestrials

(01:21:54) - UFO Sightings and Fear of Repercussions

(01:28:17) - Controversy and the Alien Hybrid Program

So yes, while the title of this episode doesn't have much to do with Mormon erotica spin-offs from teenage vampire fiction, there still might be probes involved. Trick or trea--OUCH!

    17. A Most Iconic Writing Tool | Talking about a the life and times of the typewriter with Martyn Lyons

Maybe, when you fantasize about your writing life, you picture a quill pen and scrolling parchment. But probably not. More than likely, you think about the machine that still stars in almost every novel and film about writers: the typewriter. In a new book, historian Martyn Lyons looks at the relatively short life of the typewriter and how its most famous users approached their work on the famed machines.

'Conversations with Entrepreneurs From Around the World' with Nadine van Lierop

'Conversations with Entrepreneurs From Around the World' with Nadine van Lierop

Welcome to episode 53 of the Today is the Day Changemakers Podcast.

This week I am excited to share conversations I had with entrepreneurs from around the world.  A new episode each day from Monday December 13 to Friday  December 17 will air as my guests will share their journey to entrepreneurship.

Being an entrepreneur takes tenacity, determination, motivation, and the ability to keep going even when it may seem like there are many hurdles to jump over. If you have a fire in your belly to do something that is calling to you, then listen in to hear how these entrepreneurs made their way.

On Monday, December 13, you will hear from my Nadine van Lierop  from the Netherlands. Nadine is Founder of The Orange Typewriter. She is a international copywriter helping businesses to communicate successfully abroad. She is also the host of the Special Needs Supermom Podcast.

As a special needs supermom of an autistic wonder boy and super girl battling JIA and a military spouse, she decided to start her own company in 2016. This way she was in control of her own time, able to take care of her kids the way she wanted, while continuing to do what she loves most: writing.

Having a tribe of fellow special needs moms was something Nadine missed a lot. A tribe that knew how she felt, wouldn’t judge, to share info with and get advice from. This led to the birth of her second business the Special Needs Supermom Podcast. A place to empower fellow supermoms and offer a glass of wine for your mind. She launched her first digital products to empower fellow special needs moms Spring 2021.

If all of the above is not enough, Nadine also dedicates a lot of her time as a volunteer of the Dutch Juvenile Arthritis association, for which she is vice-president, focusing on research, marketing and communication.

Listen in to hear the answer to 'if you knew then, what you know now' from each one of my guests.

Entrepreneurship is not for everyone. For those with a calling for it though, these stories will serve as inspiration to take steps towards reaching their entrepreneurial goals. Hearing others talk about bringing a concept, idea, dream to fruition can provide all of us with some motivation to take one step, small or large, forward toward our goals.

On December 22, my guest will be Fred Wasiak, President & CEO of The Food Bank of South Jersey.  From hearing how Fred found himself leading the team at the Food Bank of South Jersey, to hearing how he helps to keep his team connected and motivated as a front line organization. Fred shares so much more about his journey. There is one specific story that you will not want to miss listening to. It has to do with Fred and his daughter, Meg walking in graduation together for their Master Degrees. You will have to listen in to fully understand, but bring the tissues.

Rita Waterman, Soul Mother. A conversation with Ariel Leve

Rita Waterman, Soul Mother. A conversation with Ariel Leve

When I started this podcast just before Mother's Day 2020, my main goal was to shine a light on extraordinary mothers. I figured the world was plenty sated  with books, articles, films, blogs, and podcasts about ways in which women fell short as mothers, and, given that we could use some uplifting stories, devoting attention to those who were simply great mothers seemed like a good idea.  In other words, narcissistic/dysfunctional/dud mothers need not apply.

Which brings me to Ariel Leve's story. A few months ago, shortly after I interviewed Will Blythe, whose mother, Gloria, and her "invisible love" for her children made for an engrossing conversation,  Will suggested I interview the writer Ariel Leve. Her biological mother was difficult (an understatement, I was to learn later), he said. "Thanks but no thanks," I said.  But he wouldn't take no for an answer, and he told me about  Rita Waterman, the woman Ariel considers her surrogate mother and guardian angel, her soul mother. Without Rita, Will said, Ariel would have had a much tougher time in life. I was intrigued.

Ariel's 2017  memoir, An Abbreviated Life, is a riveting read, "strangely mesmerizing," as The New York Times put it . And throughout the book's pages, Ariel pays tribute to  Rita, who is as good a soul as you can hope to find. So yes, this episode breaks a rule,  but it was one well worth breaking.

Typewriter S1 and Koyla ft Pitu Sultan
Episode 41 of Khandaan: A Bollywood Podcast is all about 1997’s Koyla, a movie no one, absolutely no one was asking for except for our featured guest, the beloved, the one-and-only, the hilarious Pitu Sultan!

Directed by Rakesh Roshan, who clearly needed to work some serious kinks out of his system, this movie stars Shahrukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Amrish Puri, Johnny Lever, Ashok Saraf and every single Bollywood baddie working in 90s Hindi cinema. It’s a gory, musical mess and we have lots to discuss about it.

    The Space Between

    The Space Between

In the beginning, the rules of the space bar were simple. Two spaces after each period. Every time. Easy. That made sense in the age of the typewriter. Letters of uniform width looked cramped without extra space after the period. Typists learned not to do it. But then, at the end of the 20th century, the typewriter gave way to the word processor, and the computer, and modern variable-width fonts. And the world divided. Jeff and Anthony try not to space out during this very interesting episode.

    Mr. Fox's Typewriter

    Mr. Fox's Typewriter

William R. Fox began the Fox Machine Company in 1885. It's principle products were machines for the wood working industry. Fox later collaborated with Glenn Barrett to create a typewriter. Every part of the machine was made in Grand Rapids. There were three types of typewriter: blind, visible, and portable size. Foreign sales were an important part of his income. The Russian government had at one time place an order for 500 machines. Fox was forced to close his doors in 1920 after being sued by the makers of the Corona for supposed patent infringement.
