Compassionate Listening with Jenn Lozano and Ann Stevens

Compassionate Listening with Jenn Lozano and Ann Stevens

In this episode, Jenn Lozano and board member Ann Stevens explore the art of listening in an Unbound session or simply to a friend or someone in need.

Ann describes three overall ways one can respond when listening to hard things shared. Responses of fear or pride may be human responses, but God will give us grace to respond in humility, extending compassion to the individual receiving prayer.

Join them as Ann shares the importance of taking personal time prior to an Unbound ministry session to seek the Lord and meditate, even briefly, on a passage from Matthew 7. She reminds us about the depth and unlimited nature of God’s forgiveness.

There is the “small story,” and the “big story.” The small story being the details of a prayer recipient’s account and the big story of God’s power forgiveness and the ability to move into the bigger place of what God is doing.

Ann speaks about the importance of staying present in the moment and being aware of one’s own body language so the recipient feels heard.

The idea of redirecting within an Unbound session is discussed, with Jenn giving an example of a time when she was leading and a recipient withdrew because they felt unheard in the moment. Listening is an art and tips are provided to be compassionate without getting stuck rehashing the hard things someone has been through.

Ann shares a personal example of a time that she received compassion during a therapy session and describes how the empathy shown by the therapist helped her feel heard in the moment.

The biblical account of the disciples on the road to Emmaus is explored, showing how Jesus came alongside the disciples and, after listening to their story, helped draw them out of their small story into the bigger picture of what God was doing.

Ann concludes with the reminder that as we remember God’s unlimited compassion and mercy for each of us personally, we can through the Holy Spirit not judge and can help a prayer recipient step into recognizing God’s big story.

Where I Found Bread with Rachel Lozano and Priscilla Strapp

Where I Found Bread with Rachel Lozano and Priscilla Strapp

A short conversation in her counselor's office ultimately led Priscilla Strapp of New Life Philly to bring Unbound to her church. Before long, she found herself across the world leading an Unbound conference in Japan -- the same place her journey of faith began as a child of missionaries. Priscilla's experience with Unbound is a story of deliverance and bridging divides, with an ending yet to unfold.

Listen to this joyful conversation as Rachel and Priscilla reflect on what the Lord can do, often behind the scenes, working all things together to bring glory and healing.

Every day God calls to share the Good News. It is easy to be discouraged by obstacles, and oftentimes we do not see the fruit of His work. Other times He places opportunities right in our laps, where we serve as His hands and feet with a front-row seat to powerful testimonies of lives changed by deliverance.

That's the way the gospel spreads.  You always hear people say,  it's just a one starving person saying to another, 'this is
    where I found bread.'

"Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen." Hebrews 13:20-21 NIV

Deliverance is a Good Word with Neal Lozano and Jenn Lozano

Deliverance is a Good Word with Neal Lozano and Jenn Lozano

What exactly is freedom? What is deliverance?

Deliverance is one of the great themes of scripture. Israel was delivered out of bondage to Egypt and under Pharaoh's authority and brought into the promised land.  This is the foundation for us because it's really a picture of what happens to all of us in Christ - we were delivered out of slavery,  out of bondage, into freedom.

It's really summed up for us in Colossians 1:13  where the bible tells us says that He has delivered us from the kingdom of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Beloved Son.

We've been delivered from the Father of Lies and his influence, and we've been brought under the Father of the Beloved Son.

The Lord longs to give you the victory! Join us today to learn more about how deliverance is a normal part of every Christian's walk; indeed, deliverance is a GOOD WORD!

Testimony Time: I'm Free! with Rachel Lozano and Jude Christopher

Testimony Time: I'm Free! with Rachel Lozano and Jude Christopher

     It's Testimony Time!

Meet Jude Christopher who leads Unbound New Hampshire and Abba House of Mercy and Prayer at St. Andre Bessette Parish. Join Rachel and Jude and hear  how the Lord set Jude powerfully free from painful childhood wounds as she entered into deep forgiveness and  how He called her into ministry to others.

Excerpts from her testimony below, but you'll want to listen to the whole thing!

"In Unbound, I saw that the Five Keys were a way of getting rid of all of that 'stuff.' I was overjoyed and I couldn't wait.

I picked up the phone and I called somebody and asked for an Unbound session.

I thought, 'I'm willing to do anything to get set free.'

So in the course of that session, I forgave my dad on numerous levels, and my mother, and a lot of other people, but my dad, mostly, for the abandonment of the family (for he'd spend all of April to November on the golf course, mostly at the 'nineteenth' hole, and you didn't want to be around him when he came home.)

And about two hours later, I left that place and my legs were like rubber ... and  I got in my car and started driving home.

Then I realized that I had been sitting in Pro Shop at a golf club, and the man who prayed deliverance with me was the golf pro.  I thought, 'God, you've got such a sense of humor.'

I laughed all the way home. I just couldn't believe that God would be that personal, that He would know where the biggest wound in my life was and bring me there.

It was the next morning when I woke up and looked at the picture of Jesus on the wall and I said,  'I'm new!'

I knew that I had experienced and was experiencing that scripture in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 that says,  'If anyone is in Christ, he's a new creation. The new has come; the old has passed.'

I knew  beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was new and I would never again, in my whole life, be afraid to raise my hand."

Do you want greater freedom from wounds you might be carrying? Join us for this and other episodes and learn more about God's incredible love for you.
